First, where did anyone get the idea that Jerry was a better manager than Willie, oh excuse me the media decided that one. David Wright is a great player but not a clubhouse leader, the pressure of trying to fill that need causes him to press, he is a cornerstone but not the leader we need, we need someone with fire and if need be controversial, I am no genius but right now I think that player is Jose Reyes, it's his inate antics that fire up this club, remember until the media decided he should tone down his fire (or as they said arrogance) the Mets played like winners and won. As far as the media is concerned the Yankees can have as many characters as they want including the owner, oh and by the way look how many championships they have. I am a native New Yorker, it has always been a media driven Yankees/Giants town, whenever the Mets/Jets make strides they are quick to tear them down.

Forget the free agent castoffs that nobody else wants, give Brett Ratliff a shot, try and trade Kellen a lifetime backup for additional draft picks, pickup a QB in the lower rounds of the draft, trade Laverneus Coles for picks or second tier defensive players that Rex can groom into a proven system, remember the chances are we are not winning the SB in '09 anyway so let's not get antsy. We have a good core of players and a coach that definitely appears to be the right choice.
