Dice K will ride out his contract in Beantown, He will turn it around, he just has to pound the strike zone and stop shying away from contact. I could See a Bowden/Hardy swap, but its unlikely Boston would use a chip like Bowden for a SS and not a catcher.

Most players coming out of the Domican have had their records altered. As far as his production its obvious he is slower due to not being on PED's and not having Manny behind him as not allowed him to get the pitches he once crushed during his steriod years. Ortiz will hit at the bottom of the order for the foreseable future until he shows he can start hitting his weight and hit for power.

Penny, Hunter Jones, and Josh Reddick would probably work for the Sox, but as any team with the upper hand, the Brewers can ask for Buchholz or Masterson, but they would get laughed at, unless Prince comes in that deal with him, no way they get any of the top prizes. Even Bowden is a reach.

Penny has gotten his fastball back and could benifit from a return to the national league. Even if the Redsox get a mid level prospect with good potential it is a win win. Boston needs to build its postional prospect depth and especailly at Catcher and middle infield.

Wow you guys are stupid, Boston put a 5mil dollar bargain on showcase for two months and are already getting calls. They wont be eating that contract and will get a prospect for signing a guy who no one else wanted. Maybe the Yankees should take a look at the Redsox model and they wouldnt have a 210 mil payroll.

Yes they need catching, but you dont give up a top of the rotation pitcher for a young catcher. You can stopgap a catcher for a year or two. You cant develope a starter like Clay in that time.

Jeter will not play OF ever in his career. If anything he will move to 1B. He has two good years at SS, so lets talk about it than. Buchholz has had an amazing spring, if it wasnt for the depth the sox have he would be the 5th starter. I could still see them go for Montero if Varitek struggles early. Bowden is more likely to be dealt. Buchholz figures into the future rotation of Beckett, Lester, Dice-K, Buchholz, all under 30 with high strikeout numbers. Masterson or Bowden could fill the fifth next year or an outside FA. Daniel Bard makes Masterson a possible 5th starter next year. This kid is electric on the mound.

If im the vikings, I try to sign Torry Holt and than draft an OT at the spot im in. They have enough young WR's. They need a vet. poss. reciever who can go over the middle for the 1st. I dont think they need more pics, they just have to get creative. There is enough FA's still available that could fill a hole. They are one or two players away from contending. I still think QB is a problem.

Gardner is a nice 4th OF who is probably a year or two away from being an everyday CF. Melky is not a option, as he is at best a 4th OF or AAA callup. Cameron would provide some pop at the end of the lineup and provide more balance as well. Money doesnt matter, but what does NY have to give away, not much.

But another guy who would look nice in LF in front of the monster is Matt Holiday who is a free agent after this season. I like Bay and hope he stays. I dont see this happening but if I was the Redsox I would deal Bowden or Buchholz and throw in Reddick and see what happens after that. A rotation of Beckett, Lester, Peavy, Matsusaka is dominant. Than throw in either guy who doesnt go in the trade and that is an outstanding rotation. But this is all smoke.
