Except the point of the post is that Burnett's whip/era/batting average against were ALL better numbers with Molina catching than with Posada catching ...

THUS the comparison ... NOT that Posada is a crappy Catcher (he is average - his bat keeps him in the majors) BUT that Burnrtt pitched better when paired with Molina ... i.e. Molina made a difference ... Carlton/McCarver is an excellent analogy ...

Give Steinbrenner credit ... he spends his money to put the best players on the field ... there are some owner/franchises that put millions of $ in their pockets while giving their fans minor league players to watch (while they charge major league prices of course!) ...

Sure the Yankees spend more than any other team ... but who's worse the Yankees and their spendthrift ways? Or the franchises who cry "poor" and put an uncompetitive team on the field in the name of profits for the owners?

They're BOTH a problem ... but the latter is worse than the former ...

When Wang gets it up, especially when he fails to get it inside, THEN bad things are bound to happen!

Looks to me like Wang is out of rhythm, and when Wang isn't stroking in rhythm, then the pitch is bound to be spanked out of the park ...

There you have it, Wang needs to be strong, low and inside or it is sure that the offering will be stroked outta the BALLpark ...

(Hmmm - Cutler anyone?) but it would be better for Peavy AND the Padres if he were traded to a team that could use his talents to make the playoffs and possibly the World Series ... with Harden perhaps injured ... doesn't it make seanse that Peavy would pitch for the Cubs and be a part of a Championship run?
