THUS the comparison ... NOT that Posada is a crappy Catcher (he is average - his bat keeps him in the majors) BUT that Burnrtt pitched better when paired with Molina ... i.e. Molina made a difference ... Carlton/McCarver is an excellent analogy ...
Give Steinbrenner credit ... he spends his money to put the best players on the field ... there are some owner/franchises that put millions of $ in their pockets while giving their fans minor league players to watch (while they charge major league prices of course!) ...
Sure the Yankees spend more than any other team ... but who's worse the Yankees and their spendthrift ways? Or the franchises who cry "poor" and put an uncompetitive team on the field in the name of profits for the owners?
They're BOTH a problem ... but the latter is worse than the former ...
Upton behaved in a childish fashion if/when he thinks he can "punish" the fans for booing ... Hey Upton ... THE FANS pay your obscene salary ... treat them well ... because you're gonna want even MORE money in your NEXT contract ... and without the fans ... there IS NO game!
Oh ... wait a minute ... theye tried that, right? The Cubs "couldn't afford" him ... so he's GONE...
The Cubs ... "penny wise, and pound foolish" ... oh, and that goat curse thing ...
why not?
A match made in ... what?
Helps BOTH teams though ... Hughes in the Rotation, Jenks sets up or covers for Rivera when unavailable ... solves the Yankee bullpen gap ... and Jenks could follow Rivera in a season or two as Closer ...
makes some sense ... THUS ... would never happen ...
When Wang gets it up, especially when he fails to get it inside, THEN bad things are bound to happen!
Looks to me like Wang is out of rhythm, and when Wang isn't stroking in rhythm, then the pitch is bound to be spanked out of the park ...
There you have it, Wang needs to be strong, low and inside or it is sure that the offering will be stroked outta the BALLpark ...
Peavy would make the Brewers MUCH CLOSER to being a playoff contender ...
Belechick was lucky to get a job after Cleveland when Parcells saved him ... He won those Super Bwls because he cheated - video taping the defensive signals of his opposition and relaying the defese to the QB via radio.
Belechick is a cheater who got outed ... enjoy the ill gotten gains, but please don't claim him as some kind of genius ... he's just a guy who found an edge and cheated the system ...

Everyone credits Bill's sidekicks for part of his success. I disagree. It was BILL who ochestrated THEIR success. Where are they without Bill?
Well now, lets see:
Charlie Weiss - Failure
Romeo Crennell - Failure
Eric MAngini - Fired from first job
Josh McDaniels - His first week as a head coach he totally destroys the Denver Broncos!
Scott Pioli - Jury is still out
Bill Parcells - No championships of any kind since departure with Belechick
Bill is the genious. NOT PArcells, and not any of his former sidekicks.
IN BILL WE TRUST [/quote]
and as far as the Phillies go ... IF Sheffield is willing to accept a supporting role ... he could do some real damage in Citizens Bank Bandbox ... not sure how much defense he has left ...
PERFORMACE gets you playing time ...
Gary ... sit back, enjoy ... not too many people get 10 mil a year for five years to ride the bench ... and since you cheated the ballclub and the fans out of that 50 mil ... just sit back and take it like a man ...
