so there were no QB draft options in 2nd or 3rd round? there were..... and if, and it may be a BIG if, but if matt flynn turns out to be a good QB in oakland.... there was one option that was overlooked. actually, nobody was overlooked cause JJ was not looking. he is content with a marginal QB, as most fans are. we say, "he's the best since aikman!" and he is! but we had bums QBing back then. guys no other NFL team would roll the dice on like JJ did. so we are now stuck with romo. and it's likely we will look back in 5 yrs when he's done and see that he was one of the problems on a team full of countless problems.... with the main one being JJ.

i'm just waiting for all the, "well, who you gonna get that's better than garrett?" comments. kinda like what we heard from all the romo backers the last 6 mths. "who you gonna get that's better than romo?" like there is absolutely no other option at QB besides romo. so it made sense to give him $100 million and lock him up for 7 more yrs??

there is always other options for any member of a team. but you have to be creative and have the ability to make good decisions...... something we don't have in the dallas front office. garrett has made many mistakes as HC that have affected games in one way or another. but that's what you get with a "learning on the job" HC.

another .500 season and no way garrett keeps his job. JJ is a delusional snake oil salesman with diarrhea of the mouth. he says stuff just to keep his mug in the news..... people know not to trust much of what he says. he's created this image of himself that he must believe is something positive, when in reality, most fans of any team in this league hate him.

athletes should have goals, no question..... we should all have goals. but to share how he wants to do something the will never,ever be done again..... speaks of arrogance! and this kid is all about arrogance. can't wait till he wakes up in reality next season!!!

lots of "flash" and money, rolex watches..... he's a celebrity in his own mind. his comments are why you don't give an award like this to a freshman. he wasn't ready for this and he's likely had his best year ever in his career.

his sophmore year will be a let down and the NFL will be ignoring this "flash in the pan" guy. years from now we will all be saying... "johnny who??"

if JJ doesn't hire jimmy back when he bought the team, we never have those 3 SB wins in the 90s. he could have easily hired another "garrett" back then and then all we feel today starts way back in the early 90s.

at least he did one thing right....... a few decades ago in hiring jimmy. but JJ's ego has grown HUGE since the 90s and we are stuck with this idiot making all the decisions for what has become a very average team in this league.

our only hope of real change is a new HC that can judge talent, negotiate fair deals, and get the most out of his players. this can only be accomplished by a seasoned, proven HC.

jimmy would have likely stayed another year or maybe two. and if he stays one more year and wins the SB.... he's the only HC in NFL history to win 3 SBs in 3 yrs. no question jimmy was getting fed up with JJ and their time was coming to an end, but if JJ stays out of jimmy's business dallas wins that third SB and the jimmy likely leaves.

he's had over a decade since jimmy left and they are getting worse..... he's had his chances!

notice all the other post from fans of other teams....... they absolutely LOVE JJ and hope he lives to a 100 yrs old. not hard to see that having JJ making all the decisions is a huge bonus for the other teams in this league.

garrett is nothing but a puppet.... that's all he's capable of being under JJ. and ryan was fired because JJ wanted him out. he was too vocal and it probably cost him his job. anyone that has an opinion won't last long on this staff. running off jimmy after 2 SB wins clearly shows JJ's ego problems. has any other NFL owner run off their HC after winning a SB??? it has never happened!

no real changes on this team...... no reason to expect any more than another .500 year. look forward to seeing the next "yes sir" man JJ brings in after this season. JJ is simply destroying this franchise.

sounds like an attempt to get fans back involved/interested in a team that has fallen so far so fast. fans want a competitive team not new uniforms!!

this would be the second logo change under his ownership....... a little too soon and maybe he should focus on a second championship, but that's a little more challenging!

i guarantee you that 90%+ of people feel JJ had absolutely nothing to do with these 3 titles except hiring jimmy johnson. give credit where credit is due..... and JJ was a brand new owner back then and had little to nothing to do with the players on those teams.

likely garrett.... but really it won't matter who does this. they have nobody on the coaching staff that is capable of effectively doing this so regardless of who calls the plays, it won't be season changing. and this is garrett's year to get over the hump into playing in january or it will be his last season. i'm betting it's his last year w/ dallas.

the mavs have been good for so long...... and it was just 2 yrs ago they were holding the championship trophy. so one bad season for the mavs doesn't replace what they've accomplished the last 5-7 yrs. if we don't have cuban as their owner we don't have that title. he will make changes and get them competitive again.

the rangers have been a big success the last 3-4 yrs and would expect the same again this season.

the stars and MAINLY the cowboys are the huge disappointment in dallas. hockey.... when does the season start/end??? but the cowboys are becoming THE JOKE of the NFL along with their owner. JJ is absolutely destroying the cowboys....... i've known more 20+ yr fans that have simply stopped watching the cowboys the last 5 yrs than i've seen in my 35+ yrs as a fan.

fans have always hated JJ for the way he handled things when he bought the team and even more so for allowing his huge ego to run jimmy off, but his mug is now becoming repulsive to many fans today. honestly, many just HATE to see him.... a photo, commercial, quotes.... this guy is absoutely becoming the al davis and bud adams (when in houston) of the league.

the right tackle offered little of substance (eliminate rest of sentence)

that's exactly what i feel and have been saying for years. and i too agree that wilson beats out romo on any NFL team in the league. but there are still dallas fans out there that believe in romo and come up countless excuses in defending his play. reality has not set in for them..... just yet.

1) romo is not a dedicated "manning" type QB. he's not going to put in the time to learn defenses like manning has and it's likely he's way below manning on the IQ scale so, 2) if he did it would not matter..... as posted above, it's not going to stop him from making that horrible throw in the last few minutes of that huge game.

JJ asking romo to be more manning like is a joke. Qbs either are this way are they are not. romo has many off season interests besides football and all the money JJ wasted on romo will not change this or make him any more manning like.
