Even then, I don't think it works. A one lost team could easily knock an undefeated team out of a playoff system when the competition becomes more intense. Plus, do you really think if Utah and, for example, Florida were the only undefeated teams this year Utah would have been in the title game? They would not have even been rated #2.

By that logic, Stanford, Penn State, and Oregon should be in the consideration for number since they also beat the team that beat USC.

Wait, Penn State sorta was until they were destroyed by USC...what a whacky world. :-)

Would love to see it, but not happening. There is too much money involved and university presidents would force it to happen to collect their paycheck. The only way to make a change is if WE (the fans) stop going, watching, and spending money on merchendise. And that is even hard to do when your are a hardcore fan.

Is anyone else tired of arguing about this every year? At the end of each season some team gets screwed while the hypocritical NCAA sits quiet and the BCS idiots laugh their cackling laughs all the way to the bank. The BCS and all their prostitutes keep explaining that their pile of crap is a sweet smelling rose. There will NEVER be a true legitimate national champion while this BS-CS remains as it is.

This is statment is silly. Do you realize how many years in advance non-conf games are scheduled? Trying to determine who will be in the the top 25 when you play them requires a HUGE crystal ball...it is not realistic. Utah scheduled Michigan years ago...not their fault UM turned out to suck this year. Also, top teams always hesitate to play games like this and have even backed out because they worry about losing. The Alabama assault should show that teams like Utah are for real.
