I'm just quoting from the report, but it isn't 60% like the other poster said.

Other things that people don't consider is property taxes. rates are higher in Texas, for instance, because they fund schools from property tax.

The average top marginal tax rate on wages in the US in 2013 will be 47.8%. In California it will be 51.9%. The lowest states are at 42.8%. So he would pay 8.1% more in taxes over the lowest states and 4.1% more than the average states.

Not 60% and not incredibly higher than anywhere else. If I was making $20M I probably wouldn't mind paying the premium to live there.
