I'm not following your assertion:

premise a. - he violated core value
premise b. - he has to follow guidelines to return

conclusion - core values aren't "core"

I hope this doesn't look like semantics, but perhaps there are multiple definitions of "core". Some that mean, "unflexing, uncompromisable" and others that mean, "true to our beliefs, what we hold dear". I got caught in a lie to my parents as a kid, but didn't end up on the street. And they viewed not lying as pretty core, I'll tell ya.

6 of 12 stories covering "off the field conduct"?

I often wish I wasn't a sports fan. It contradicts a lot of my beliefs in life. I just like football too damn much. I'm like an addict.

This is interesting.

I'm not saying your wrong, but would John Q Nobody have really faced a harsher sentence for this? I'm not sure that high profile athletes *always* get off lighter than you and me. Sure, they often do, but not always, IMO.

What would the police have done if this was John Q Freshman in his dorm and not Chris Rainey. What would happen to John Q Millworker if he "pulled a Tiger" and whored around town? Would he lose half his wealth (if he had a pre-nup like Tiger)? What would happen if I sent Jenn Sterger a picture of my tally-whacker? And here's one for you: What would happen if John Q Tally-local had his buddy's girlfriend give him a discount at Dillards?

My point is that, while athletes often get away with murder, they sometimes get harsher treatment than is warranted.

Looks like it will be 6 (at least).

Florida fans will think it's fair.

The rest of the world will think he should have gotten the chair.

Congrats on your UM win, but a 1 game win streak v Miami and a 5 (6? getting hard to count) game losing streak to UF and a losing streak to USF does not quite put you there yet.

Beat UF in November (a possibility), and the crown is yours.

Seems reasonable. Particularly the Gump screens. If I were Satan, I'd be calling plenty of screens to MI and TR to combat Austin's agressive, blitzing D. A lot like, well, last December.

Actually, you spelled "good" correctly, but I believe you meant to say, "You don't have to spell very well to get your point across."

I mean, if this is a shameless attempt to get people to read your stuff, you should have a fairly solid grasp of the written word.

If you're just bangin' out posts for **** and giggles, then have at dude.

Whatevs, Armpit. I'm sure your team only recruits angels. As if no program in the nation would want Florida's last 4 recruiting classes because they're supposedly filled with such low character persons. Talk about hypocrisy.

I'm outta here, because I really should care less than I already do about what the rest of the country thinks.

I'm an alum and a fan of a school and a football program that I have always been proud to support (Born in Alachua General). My support does not waver in the face of these arrests, because I know that these arrests are not symbolic of some deceitful or dirty agenda being facilitated by the coaching staff or Athletic Department as most want to believe. (and I'm a very critical/skeptical thinker so don't call it blind homerism).

I'll be in the T&R's talking football. Peace out homies.

Sorry, looks like a defended two points.

Now back to football: looks like Debose is staying outside.

Oh get the **** off it, dude.

Show me a recruit that Florida's landed that nobody else wanted because of character concerns.

******ing ridiculous statement.

The righteousness around here reeks.

I realize this is Blamefest 2010, so I am only going to defend this one point of Florida's program.

I am in no way excusing what is happening with GPD/UPD and Gator football players, but those that think Urban Meyer is only interested in wins and his career are far from understanding the reality in Gainesville.

That staff takes a very paternal approach to their kids. One could say that "love" is the driving force for Meyer led teams. You can go call it ghey, or **** or whatever you want, but he cares greatly for his players and this hurts him (esophogal spasms) more than you know.

It's embarrassing. Yes. But calling the staff or school dirty and/or only caring about wins would be innaccurate.

It is my understanding that a day doesn't go by w/o Meyer thinking about Avery Atkins.

This was in reference to a quote of Rainey's calling last year's team pre-madonnas.

Rainey's just one of those kids that talks a little stream of conscience like.

I believe they have figured out that the stadiums will be at their maximum heat index with a 12:21 start.

120 in BHG Stadium last week. Lucky that wasn't Miami, OH... Luck didn't help the innumerable fans that saw Shands on Saturday.

Stupid...

This. But then, I'm sufficiently worried about most games.

I think Florida can wear down UTe if nothing else, but these Gators still have a lot of growing up to do and in a hurry if they expect to make a lot of noise.

But Tinny's got it right, IMO. Florida will load the box - just man the corners and let Black do his thing. Simms isn't good.

I really don't get all the buzz over 'Bama repeating. Their offence was very poor for the majority of last year. They lost some of their O line and they lost 10 defensive starters. This point is always brushed under the rug.

I'm not saying that there isn't talent to fill the void, but I just don't get the hype. Last year UF had their two deep returning on D. That hype made sense, but this?

That being said. I'm all for the Alabama predictions. Carry that load boys!
If there is anything fishy going on, I think it's really unlikely to be a personal attack on Maurkice. I think it's somewhat unlikely that it's a rival school. And I think it's most likely a rival agent. The timing just screams of sour grapes from the agent that didn't get to represent Maurkice (and thus, likely Mike as well).

I'm hearing whispers of tons of players that have yet to be named in the South Beach party debacle. There's also the D.C. party that Ingram attended. Who else? Who's guilty? Who's not? Who'll lie?

So far everyone is denying everything and *that* seems the most unlikely to be true.
