You keep throwing Ben's foot out there as an example and it's comparing apples to oranges. With an MCL tear you can't plant your foot or step into a throw - you have no zip on your throws, nor can you scramble. With a broken foot you can still do these things, it's just going to hurt. It's a difference of pain versus actually being incapable of doing them.
Cowher says he would only go somewhere with an established quarterback he could work with... Browns don't have that. Gruden could be good for the Browns, he's a good coach but a terrible personnel man. He only won at first in TB when he still had Dungy's players. In Cleveland, Holmgren could help him out on the personnel decisions.
Michigan State overachieved and Alabama underachieved to get to the bowl they were in. Iowa and Illinois both won bowl games they weren't favored in. Penn State, Wisconsin, and Northwestern all lost close games, with Wisconsin playing an undefeated TCU team that deserves its #3 ranking, and with NW playing without it's MVP. And Ohio State just beat Arkansas. Really the only disappointment here is Michigan.
The Red Sox don't have a legion of obnoxious fans that stretches coast to coast, it's as simple as that. Whenever there's a reason to hate on the yankees, people will jump all over it.
Why do so many people assume that democracy extends to businesses? Bringing up communism is ridiculous. The NFL can does not have to give its employees a say in its decisions, nor should it have to.
On a side note, Russia hasn't been a communist country for 19 years now.
I'm just going to excuse myself from any further Mallet discussion. I don't think he's good, but I'm also biased against him. Spend 5 minutes with him and you'll likely hate his guts too.
Maybe you conveniently forgot, but he was throwing to the wrong team all too often in that game. Arkansas lost because of Mallet's mistakes, not the fact that he wasn't there. And you might also have forgotten how Tyler Wilson stepped in for Mallet in the Auburn game - he did just as well, if not better. Mallet is not even close to Luck. And putting Keenum in the conversation is even more laughable.
Who was saying that the SEC teams couldn't beat Ohio State? Maybe that's what you wanted to hear to pretend you were the underdog, but everybody knows Ohio State always chokes in a BCS bowl game.
As for Oregon's defense, I think they're really good. People look at the numbers against them and dismiss them, but never take into the account how many drives they play against compared to other teams. When your offense is putting 50+ on the board with 2-4 minute drives, your defense is going to be on the field a lot, and they're going to give up points. Auburn has the same high powered offense, but their defense surrenders more points than Oregon.
Indycar is Penske's first love and primary interest. I'm just surprised he wants to go with GM bodywork instead of making it himself. His shop is certainly capable.

And did Stanford play the powerhouses of Northern Colorado or Western Michigan? I don't think so.
MSU > Stanford.
