Hell, I'm pleased that it was within 4.

It was, did my arguments not make that clear?
Thanks Yoda, I appreciate the sentiment, and nice job to you as well. I'll send you an FM about this little TD of ours after my last argument is up...Whether I advance beyond this round or not, I will say that it's nice to TD with high quality people. I enjoyed it.

I know that I watch soccer about as often, and I venture that my opponent here was in a similar boat. I will say this though. After researching the topic I really want to go to one of these matches at least once.

look at that, try and be culturally accurate and FN screws it up...I had to copy and paste every time I typed Fenerbahce, so that could get the cool "c" right. That what I get for not being smart enough to do it on my keyboard.
you know what, just ignore this question for now. We can talk about it when the TD is done...my b
of course stories happen every season, but is there tangible evidence like 36% increases in ratings as a result?
I'm not disagreeing with you, but what positive stories other than Ripken's record are you referring to, and is there corresponding evidence that shows those stories peaked interest?
I appreciate the delayed vote for Yoda.
Wow...no love for fighting an uphill battle I see.
We all make mistakes. I thought it was pretty cool when I was 18. Had the windows completely blacked out, sound system etc...in hindsight, yes I realize that I was a loser.

Thanks man, this was a fun one. I follow the World Cup, but I'm not a soccer fan per se. It was nice to delve into a different sport. Hopefully we can meet again in the next round.

The flags are nice...we're getting our 11th this year. Nice TD Jolly

I was quite pleased to see you as my opponent. Our TDs are always fun...though this TD probably doesn't have a place for it, I would like to point out how replay would've made our most consistent argument very different. 1985 foreva
Tough pick, but I liked lefts argument just a little better...
it seems like you both did, so it's a moot point
Good TD. excellent points on both sides. I'm struggling with who to vote for on this one...how did no one take Jordan, the first global athlete icon in history? Anyway, I think you have to define what makes someone the best endorser. Is it how many contracts they have, how popular their specific endorsements are, or how high their Q rating is? In the end I'm going to go with right, due to the Dale Jr pick. I just can't see him having the international appeal of everyone else in the TD...good job guys, you made this one tough,
tough TD, and good job by both. Went right because I though he argued it a little better.

I understood the argument, and it's a thought, but why would it happen now, when it hasn't happened in the past? The Bourne comment was really because I don't see a CF who's game is predicated on speed becoming a DH when he gets too old to play his current position. I'm not saying that your argument is entirely misguided; I just think it may be an overreaction to two guys signing big contracts in the AL. Also, don't forget that two NL clubs offered Pujols 9 and 10 year deals as well.

Right now no, but they're also both slugging first baseman. Michael Bourne???
