ny giants - you're right, they haven't fired him yet. But they've made it very clear that they are going to - approximately 15 minutes after the last game of the season. The A.D. has said, on several occasions, that he will make a 'quick decision' on Weis, immediately after the season. I've never heard an A.D. say anything like that and then keep the coach.

Charlie should let them fire him - why is it considered a lack of 'character' if he doesn't resign? Notre Dame is the one who signed the contract and now doesn't want to honor it. Charlie should take the money, he's earned it just for having to coach at a place like Notre Dame.

i've never been one to blame officiating, because I've always believe that you get some of them, and you lose some of them and it sort of balances itself out. However, I must say that the recent calls in Florida's favor are a bit disturbing. Blatant bad calls that, if they'd made called right, Florida might possibly be sitting on 2 losses now, and nobody would be talking about them repeating, their perfect season, or any of that stuff. I don't like hearing coaches complain either - it makes them appear whiny. But some of this stuff has been pretty obvious.

"Beckys?" Actually, I find it quite immature and not very creative.

Tribefan, that was a great piece of research - I wouldn't have known about that if I hadn't read it from you. Certainly puts things in perspective.

I really dislike hearing comments that put the blame on Tressel, saying Tressel is 'ruining him', etc. This is the same coach who deveoloped Troy Smith, and, Boeckman, (led the Big 10 his Junior year), and don't forget, Krenzel. As for play calling, the Bucks have tried running the option - Terrelle fumbles. They've thrown it downfield, taken chances (see USC game, end of first half). Sometimes, its the execution. Terrelle just isn't there yet. He needs to mature in every aspect of his game (mentally as well as physically). That's going to take time. Whether he ever develops into a star QB or not, time will tell. It is too early to label him a 'bust'. We can all chip in on that when his career is over.

One more thing - I do think we have good receivers. They are young but I think it is a good corps. The whole thing will take time to gel, and it might not happen until next year.

I was never a Jeff Fisher fan because, well - he's beat my team a lot through the years. He's a very good coach. Those who want to start all over should remember that they are less than a year removed from having the best record in football. Stick with your coach through the hard times, he's been loyal to you - be loyal to him. Mark my words, if they get rid of Jeff, its going to be a nightmare for them. A lot of teams have gone through that, look what the Lions have been through.

31 teams. The Steelers would stick with Tomlin.
Posted Sunday December 28, 2008, About: Does Faulk want to coach Rams?
first, I think the Rams are in Salary Cap Hell. Same as the Niners. Notice how poorly some of these teams have done since their glory years? Many years ago, teams like this paid up bigtime for their players by paying their salary way into the future. Hence, tying up future money for the teams later on. Until that works itself out, these teams are going to have a hard time - no matter who the coach is.
