It's a shame that there are so very few players who have loyalty to their teams. I miss the days when you had a ball player and they stayed most of their career with their team. The Red Sox had to do what they did with Manny, and he was embraced by L.A. He talked about how much he loved L.A. and the fans. All an act.

As far as the previous comment goes, you don't pay for what someone did you pay for what they will do. Manny is turning 39 now. 2 years is the maximum he should get on a contract and since when in 45 million cheap? He would get to play in decent weather the majority of the time, and he would have fans who already love him. But no, that's not enough. He's turning his back on the fans for the dollar.
