Sucks for me though because I am a Cubs fan. Cards were my 2nd favorite team in baseball until the allstar break. During introductions Ted Lilly was booed by the crowd. That's just classless

I think we all believe hind sight is 20/20. I know when they got Soriano I was very happy. The talk of Fukudome out of Japan was off the charts, and the coming into the season Bradley was like a career .280 hitter. All three signings so far have been a bust. Soriano has a no trade clause so it would be hard to get rid of him, his 18M salary, and his .235 BA, but I would try. If they could here is what I would do. Clean house with the outfield, make some difficult 3 or 4 team trades. Get Freddy Sanchez, who can hit, stock pile their minor league which is dying. Note on that fire scouting dept. I would let Fox, Hoffpauir, and Johnson play the rest of the year, maybe pick up a FA outfielder like Edmonds and L. Gonzalez. Look the Cubs organization made a big deal out of getting a lefthanded bat, look what Dunn and Ibanez are doing. Both of those guys had interest in going to Chicago. Sure it is easy saying what I have just said, bottom line is that the Cubs have a bunch of underachieving overpaid crybabies that aren't earning the money they being paid. If they return to form and the Cubs can make a few tweaks they'll have they best team in the NL.

Clean house with the outfield. Trade Soriano, Fukadome, and Bradley for what you can get and let Hoffpauir, Fox, and Johnson play the outfield. Maybe make a trade for someone like Freddy Sanchez, who can hit, and pick up a vetern outfielder like Edmonds or L. Gonzalez. Work for offseason because my Cubs are out unless their heavy hitter pick it up.
Posted Monday January 26, 2009, About: Cubs sale clearing way for Peavy?
All along I have been for the Peavy trade, but the more I think about it the les I like the trade possiblity. First, over the past couple of years Peavy has come up with an injury. Second, they finally have done what they have needed to do for awhile, rebuild their pitching in the minors. You look at the trade that brought Garrett Olsen to the Cubs. Sure he went 9-10 with a 6.56 ERA with the Orioles, but look at that division: Yankees, BoSox, and the Rays. You put him in a poor division like the NL Central, why could he not do much better. Third, Why would the Cubs get rid of Vitters. This kid hits for average and it is said once he matures physical he is going to be a major HR stud. Ramirez only has 3 years left on his contract, and by then Vitters would be ready for the Majors. Keep the majority of what they have traded for, and get rid of those who are out of options, ie Cedano and Hill.

Jason had one of the worst years of his career offensively and expects to get paid like it was his best. He is supposed to be the team captain. Show some humility and take one for the team. Greed doesn't show qualities of a real team captain.

That's what they get for letting Wood go.

Let the trade rumors to the Cubs begin. Why not they are involved in most other trade rumors.
Posted Monday January 19, 2009, About: Why Orioles ordered Pie
The Cubs are stockpiling pitching in the farm system, which they do not have, but if anyone thinks that these pitchers that they have gotten lately in trades is not part of a bigger plan(Peavy), is not thinking clearly. As far as Pie, he still has alot of promise, but if the Cubs are wanting to win now why not. The Orioles are going to give him a real chance to play everyday which the Cubs did not. If he did bad for a day or two they pulled him. For me, I think this could be good for everyone. Cubs end up trading Olson and others for Peavy, Pie and Orioles giving him real time to play might prove him as real big league player.
Posted Wednesday January 07, 2009, About: Cubs to restart Peavy talks
I like Peavy and I think that he would be a good fit, but let's either get it done or completely move on. Maybe revisit in June or July. On with the Soap Opera. GO CUBS GO!!!!!!
Posted Saturday January 03, 2009, About: Cubs players OK with Bradley
If you look at Bradley's one blow up last year it was because an announcer was talking smack about him. You know maybe if people would leave his past alone, he may not keep repeating it. I am a big Cubs fan and hope they sign him and he proves everyone wrong. The Cubs just need to make a few more moves including getting a fifth starter. If you look at the division, I think they are already in the playoffs, just make a few more moves and who knows maybe this is the year.
Posted Friday January 02, 2009, About: DeRosa trade may jump-start Peavy talks
Again, we have wait for others to agree to those trades. It's the Cubs, they made enough money off that hockey game to pay for Bradley's contract. Padres were wanting pitchers, but not relief pitchers which they got in the DeRosa deal. The Cubs want Garrett Olson and Brian Roberts from the Orioles, that could happen. If they were going to get rid of DeRosa, they should have traded him to the Philles where they could have gotten either JA Happ or Kyle Kendrick back in return and then they could have presented the Padres with take it or leave it deal. The deal should have been like this.

Garrett Olson
JA Happ/Kyle Kendrick
Sean Marshall
Josh Vitters
Ronny Cendano
