Posted Friday January 02, 2009, About: Will Ferentz leave Iowa for NFL?
Ferentz is a good coach, but a great person. I know Iowa isn't a powerhouse, but it turns out great student athletes & that is why he is cherished in Iowa. He is very well respected & I think he could be a good NFL coach, they will never love him like they do in Iowa. He & his wife are very invested in the community & his son is a freshman at Iowa this year. Iowa does turn out players that succeed in the NFL, hello Bob Sanders, Nate Kaeding, and a slew of others. Iowa does not get the top athletes like Florida, Ohio State, etc and they never will, but Ferentz is loved there & yes, I agree he is overpaid, but he continually turns out decent teams & great players....Shonn Greene this year. I really don't think Iowa will lose him, he's got it too good here.
