I think Brown is just saying what the majority of us think. As an athlete, you are measured by your play and contribution to the team on the field and not by how much money you made. Because after your playing days, you are a forgotten specimen, and you will be the average Joe once again.

I just did the math; Boras pockets 2.5 mil, leaving Statsburg with 10 mil. Maybe 10 mil is just not enough for Strasburg. I'm with you, fire Boras and hire someone with credibility. It looks like the agent is looking more out for himself.

Who is this clown? Remember, Boras works for Stratenburg. Although Boras is giving him bad advice, Stratenburg has the power to either accept or veto the offer. It is to believe that the offer is for 12.5 mil. He won't even be able to spend that in his lifetime. Boy, only if I was an owner or GM of a professional team. This is a prime example of selfishness. For crying out loud, we're talking about the chance to play with one of the worst, if not the worst, baseball team in the Majors. Allow them some financial relief to go and sign other players. The Nats need more than a 21-year old pitcher. Unless he is superman, he won't be able to pitch a whole game for 169 games in a year. Gimme a break!

One game or, one throw, does not make or break a rookie's career. However, Sanchez would be my starter from day 1. You don't trade for a player that high for him to sit on the bench and watch the action. Experience comes with playing, not watching. This year, Sanchez should at least be able to manage the game. By next year, he should be the QB everyone expects him to be. Brett who?

I'm glad to see the Eagles giving Mike a second chance. He'll do well. He paid his dues to society and now it's time to move forward.

I'm not a dog lover to begin with, and I thought his punishment was a little too harsh. Roger Goodell should not suspend him at all.

These rookies never cease to amaze me. Just because he had a successful college career, he believes he's the second coming to Jerry Rice. He is receiving bad advise from his agent, and it is costing him dearly. My philosophy is to sign your initial contract, prove your worth, and then ask for a bigger and better deal when it is time to renewal your contract. Millions of people all over the world are feeling the economic downturn, and he is too ungrateful to be in the position that he is in.

Food for thought.....God forbid, if McFadden's career is cut short due to an injury, or he is a victim of the salary cap and the Raiders decide to release him, will he still be obligated to pay the $8k per month in child support, or will the court modify the support based on his income?

Another good point! It seems like child support is based on the income of the father rather than a reasonable amout it would cost in raising a child. You and I know that that child is not going to eat $8,000 worth of food per month or wear $8,000 worth of clothing. If the mother is smart, she would invest some of the money in the child's education, such as putting the child through a private school and setting aside some money for the child's college education. The rest could be used for living expenses.

Good point. You forgot to include the lump sum of $10,000, making the first year salary of $106,000. For the next 17 years, the mother doesn't have to work.

I'm a life-long Redskins' fan, so natually I can't stand the Cowboys. Romo's biggest liability is that everytime he makes a mistake or, a bad play, he is seen walking off the field with his head down. This shows a lack of leadership; and if your teammates sees that your leader is sulking in despair, they, too, will give up.

He's a more accurate passer than Eli. So Jacobs need to worry more about Eli than Romo. He just added fuel to the fire for the upcoming season. It's going to be interesting.
