The lose of Faneca was the beginning of the slide to where the line currently is. Honestly, I think the line is more maligned than they deserve, given that injuries and instability have as much to do with their production as any other factor.

However, there does need to be an upgrade in pass protection. Strength and size are great advantages for the running game, but without some dramatic improvement in the footwork and drop back protection. I'm not even completely sure I wouldn't be looking at replacing Kugler. I never really was more than luke warm with his selection as OL coach.

I'd even consider taking a OT and moving Colon inside to guard when he comes back as an improvement.

While there has been much discussion about the age of the defense, I can't see it being a terrible trade off if we saw the running defense slip to 2nd or even 3rd if the pass coverage climbed up to 3rd or 4th. I think the overall effect would be fearsome.

Imagine...Polamalu, Clark, Asomugha, Taylor, with Gay as a nickel back. That seems to be the best way to beat New England next year.
Steelers.....once again, on the road to ten
Since the game is at half time, thiss won't seem like much of a prediction...but I've been saying all week that I see twoo equally possible outcomes.....eithe the Pack wins big, or the Bears win a close one.
While the Pack does look pretty good, everyone was saying the same thing about Atlanta before GB beat them...and they were saying the same thing about NE before the Jets beat THEM.
