Bettman and the NHL board of governors deserve one another. A group of people not too removed from a prison sentence running the NHL like four year old's! These guys would dump all over Richard and Belliveau if it served them. SCUM! Since the owners are as daft as Bettman and since he is their lap dog, don't expect it to change anytime soon. I hate the NHL but not the teams. Well except the Leafs, but then everybody hates them!!!

Thanks DC, yeah I miss it too. The Bell Centre is not the forum. I remember being there once when the Habs won the cup on home ice. I had standing room in the rafters but I got to watch them hoist the cup!

Rather than stay silent here, all I can do is say that when I was privileged enough to go to games at the old forum years ago, nobody was booing anything except bad home town play. I cannot explain the classlessness of some people these days. Politics does indeed have no place in sports. I'd like to give them all a smack in the head but I suspect the crystal meth will dull the pain. This Canuck only boos the Leafs!

Nope, I kinda hate the Yankees although I've got to acknowledge the championships they've won. Impressive, but that's the nicest thing I'll say about them.

As for the Habs, well, they kind of suck at the moment and for the last buncha years as well. When I call them #1, I'm speaking in terms of hockey legacy. I grew up watching great Habs teams. I criticize the Leafs only because that's what people born and raised in Montreal do. I think it's in the water. Oh yeah and anybody that loud should have at least won one cup in the last 40 years.

Ignoring my avatar for a moment, the fact that Canada has to endure the insufferable Leaf's on Saturday night has nothing to do with who Canada's team is. The numbers speak for themselves and do not bear repeating. The second most winning franchise on the face of the earth is most definitely Canada's hockey team. Since Canada's economy seems to emanate from a point 300 miles west of Canada's hallowed hockey mecca, we'll just have to grit our teeth and put up with it. @#$%#@

Perhaps it has not occurred to the Canadian Broadcorping Castration (CBC) that the only reason people watch the Leafs on Saturday night is because it's like not being able to take your eyes of a car accident. So there it is, the Leafs are simply Saturday nights bloody car accident!

Obviously a bit tongue in cheek however some truth to the old rule. Goalies didn't get charged so much as players were more worried about their own safety and leaving the crease was generally hazardous to their own health.

For the record, Winnipeg and Quebec City breed hockey players that make many American franchises thrive. If you want names I can provide those.

The reason Winnipeg and Quebec City lost their teams was pure economics. Times have now changed and they deserve a second chance to keep their players home instead of shipping them across the border. Money, however will always rule!

You're probably right!! Loved watching Matuszak and Alzado. Hell Matuszak used to beat up his own team mates for not practicing hard enough. Once saw him tackle a guy then step on his head (helmet on of course, damn decent) on his way back to the huddle.
