Cox would be a horrible move. He couldn't leave Toronto fast enough after he mis-managed them from a 3-1 lead in the ALCS to losing 4-3 to the Royals in '85. Story of his career, the almost man, regular season wonder, but only ONE lousy WS in all those playoff experiences.

Weird, before I even knew about this I had been thinking about when Billy Swift, then of the Mariners, had been hit in the head so hard that the ball bounced off his head and I think made it into the stands in foul ground. In his case it seemed to help, as he went on to win 20 for the Giants later.
