Posted Sunday February 23, 2014, About: Knicks driving 'Melo away
Of course there is such a thing as a dumb opinion. Claiming otherwise is itself a dumb opinion.

AI would've carried the Sixers to at least one ring if not for the bad luck of having a team with Shaq and Kobe coached by Phil Jackson in the West in the same window of opportunity that his Sixers team had.

You're equating AI in his prime to Melo, and that's just objective nonsense. Go check out Melo's playoff record, bud. He's never even sniffed a Finals appearance, much less carried a completely mediocre team on his back all the way to one the way AI did.

Anyway, AI's career was derailed as much (or more) by injuries than it was by anything else, and that wasn't his fault. He was little guy in a big man's NBA that attacked the rim fearlessly and ceaselessly with just about no help from his team, and it took a toll.

Don't be so melodramatic. A few years ago you would've included Indiana in that sentence. Now they're arguably the best team in the East.
Posted Tuesday February 18, 2014, About: Michael Sam draws comparisons to Dumervil, Mathis
Anyway, comparing Sam's skillset as a prospect to Dumervil and Mathis is quite a stretch, in my opinion. Seems to me that Sam rates as a mid-level, roster depth-type NFL talent. He'll be a fine pro, but I don't see any Pro Bowls in his future.

You're human garbage. Just fyi.
Posted Tuesday January 21, 2014, About: Welker discipline coming at week's end
Actually, most of these so-called 'hater' posts are making very valid, rational counter-points here. The only troll-post here so far thats anti-Pats is post #10. The rest that arent tangential (e.g. referencing Sherman) make intelligent observations, however strongly worded.

Are you a Pats fan? I suggest you get real. Whining about this is not a good look for Bill. Hypocrisy, denial, and sour grapes.
Posted Monday January 20, 2014, About: Welker feels bad for the Pats
Because they don't have an elite, star-studded defense anymore (exactly like they did in the first half of the 2000s), but everyone wants to keep pretending that Tom Brady is the reason they won those three Super Bowls, and are subsequently perplexed why he can't win them anymore.
Posted Monday January 20, 2014, About: Welker feels bad for the Pats
Clean hit, clean intent. Bill does himself a disservice whining about it.

The biggest mistake the Pats made all this season was letting Welker walk, Bill should just man up about that.
Posted Monday January 20, 2014, About: Seattle WR irked by continuing questions
As for Baldwin...

Baldwin is a lot better than most people give him credit for. If the Seahawks make the mistake of letting him go in free-agency this offseason (he's an RFA, but he was undrafted so that makes it a lot more plausible he could move to another team), he's going to be a very, very good #2/slot receiver for some other team.
Posted Monday January 20, 2014, About: Seattle WR irked by continuing questions
Only in Seattle. The Seahawks have a lot more haters than the Broncos, and as for Champ Bailey individually, any objective fan will tell you that Bailey definitely deserves a ring before he retires.

"sixth-year general manager Jeff Ireland"

This quote says it all, really. It is absolutely nuts that Ireland has kept his job for *six* years. Wonder why the Dolphins can't improve? Look no further.

*averaging
Posted Monday November 18, 2013, About: AP now part of Vikes' problem
Well, AP is average more than a yard and half less per carry this year. He's still top-5 in the NFL, of course, but he's no longer an unstoppable monster.

People shouldn't be surprised. He's 28. Performance decline for running-backs in the NFL usually begins at around age 28.
Posted Monday November 11, 2013, About: Manning may miss showdown
Er, typo there:

"Taking him off the field won't keep the Broncos from WINNING games"

is what I mean to say.
Posted Monday November 11, 2013, About: Manning may miss showdown
Yep. My thoughts exactly. Manning is taking way too many hits, especially considering his age. At this rate, it's a major concern whether or not he'll last the season.

Chris Clark is indeed an inferior option on the blind-side (he also caused the strip-sack on Manning earlier), and the Broncos are playing it extra risky by rarely using their in-line TE to block... and even when he is back to block, he's very bad at it (i.e. Julius Thomas), and has caused multiple turnovers himself (e.g. the interception Manning threw vs the Colts when they were about to score late in the 4th was JT's fault... that didn't get as much attention as Hillman's fumble, but it should have, because it was just as crucial).

I know Julius Thomas has lots of TDs this year, but objectively he's pure gravy to this offense. If he doesn't catch those TDs, then you know it'll just be DT, Decker, or Welker instead. Taking him off the field won't keep the Broncos from losing games, but taking Manning off the field definitely *will* keep the Broncos from losing games. The Broncos coaching-staff are taking an enormous and completely unnecessary risk starting JT at in-line TE; if they were more sensible, they'd bench JT, start Dreessen, and just have Dreessen stay back and help that patch-work O-line block most snaps like a real in-line TE. Manning would take far fewer hits, and that *should* be what matters most.
Posted Saturday October 19, 2013, About: Jermichael Finley fires back at NFL over fine
I hate Finley as a fan, but I think he's right this time, incredibly. Suggs was positioned at the line of scrimmage, wasn't he? How the hell does that count as 'being defenseless'? Newsflash: there's generally going to be contact at the LoS immediately at the snap. If Suggs wasn't ready for it, then more the fool him.
Posted Saturday October 12, 2013, About: Howard heckled and booed overseas
The Lakers will have a lot less fans internationally after these next 10 years of mediocrity the franchise is clearly headed towards.
Posted Thursday October 10, 2013, About: The league's weakest arm? Manning's
Manning has *always* had some wobble on many of his passes. This red herring tape observation was already thoroughly debunked last year, I thought. Some intern writer at NFL.com needs to pay more attention. Even Manning's draft profile from 1998 specifically observes that Manning commonly doesn't throw tight spirals.

It's obvious that Manning doesn't have top-15 arm strength anymore, but it's plainly false to say the tape shows he has the weakest arm in the entire league. The *velocity* on Manning's throws is still fine. Not exceptional, but definitely average at worst.

lol.

As if the prospect of winning a Super Bowl ring isn't also just as much on Del Rio's mind as much or more than supposed 'moral standards'.

Are you being deliberately ironic, or are you really just that clueless?
Posted Monday September 30, 2013, About: Trojans still stunned
You're either ignorant or stupidly biased if you think the urban black kids in california speak with any less 'creative English' than the black kids from the deep south.

Lee was born and raised in Inglewood, for chrissake.
