Maybe if we have a league full of "replacements", we (49ers) can get back to glory!!! I think Alex Smith would make a great "replacement" QB! Actually...I'd be pissed and start watching again immediately after things got resolved...sorry, I'm a realist. All the fans who say they'd never watch the NFL again...you're not true fans anyway...go watch futbol.

Peterson or the Price with the first round...one of them will be available...DL in the second round and trade the 3rd or 4th round pick to the Broncos for Brady Quinn...quarenteed Harbaugh could make a stud out of him!!! We still need a RB with some lights-out speed to mix things up...how about Reggie Bush??? You know he'd love to come back to Cali! I'd trade our second rounder for him in a heart-beat!!! If we could pull one of the 2 DB's in the first and hook Reggie and Brady, we'd be SET! Orton or Kolb wouldn't be bad, but probably too high of a price in draft picks...

I wonder what would have happened if Matt Leinart hadn't gone back for his Sr. year...the Niners would have drafted him instead of Smith. I'll bet Leinart would have been a completely different player had he been given an actual chance, like he would ahve received with the Niners...just a thought.

As bad as Smith was on Sunday, I blame a lot of it on the teams lack of playing it's starters in the pre-season. I've never heard of a neck sprain lasting a month...Crabtree hasn't been in the league long enough to have veteran treatment like that. He needs to be treated like a rookie all over again. Gore will be fine, but I would have liked to see the otehr guys play as well...maybe Dixon with his size could have worn down the defense a little...

I think another killer is our secondary...could our CBs be any slower?!! If we don't draft one with speed (or talent would be nice) this year, I'm gonna be pissed! After getting smoked like we did, I can't figure out why Taylor Mays didn't get in the game. There's no way he's not as good as Lewis right now. Our secondary is going to be suspect at best all season...I have a bad feeling about the Saints game coming up!!! Our secondary against Brees is going to be ugly...especially if we don't get any pressure on him like we failed to do this last game...
