The hall is struggling, financially. We've mostly agreed earlier on that an initial larger group would have a) broadened the fan attraction, and b) allowed for recognition of so many more early to the sport who are now gone and nearly forgotten.
It is this group of early years significant people that make me so extremely opposed to e nomination f active people **** childress and hendrick. It's about money as much as recognition.... nobody will by t-shirts for the stars of yesteryear, but a rusty Wallace HOF shirt will sell.
No to rusty, childress, hendrick. Premature for all. Many other deserving, and almost forgotten, that need to be recognized before no one who even remembers them is left on earth to vote for them. Like other sports, needs to be a moritorium period, of "x" years after active participation, to be considered for hall of fame. Rusty has been inactive, OK, I admit it, I just don't like him at all. But the other two, premature
In a sport/field were 20% Quit the race, 40% more are insignificant to the outcome, second rate is truly only on step away from first level. It's a compliment.
Johanna long is a great idea. She does have a few sponsors. Biomet, for one. Not as deep of pockets as go daddy.com, but finch should be glad to have anybody on the quarter panels. Wallace Jr is under Gibbs already, watch for. Nationwide use next year as stale bread moves on to where ever he perches.
Finch does seem to have a knack for not letting prior bad acts affect his views. He knew, I feel, what Kurt would give him: exposure. That #51 was on camera as much as any of the chase teams in some races, and typically in the press midweek. Someone will soon realize that finch knows how to keep the chatter going adjunct his car, and put their logo on the quarter panel.
I thank him, too, for giving 'dinger a second chance, and I hope he stays clean and gets past this, but I still have some level of reservation that finch has an ulterior motive to keep his prior obscure team in the news and on camera.
I , for one, have spent MANY an early, early Sunday morning watching F1 on speed. I too have thoroughly enjoyed the commentary of the trio you mention. This is disappointing. Without the F1 live broadcasts, I am sure SPEED will fill the void with lovely infomercials for kitchen and cleaning products.
You are not achieving parity, all you are doing is penalizing the better cars of the day and rewarding the laggards. Rules for your so called parity need to take effect before gentlemen, start your engines.
Opposed to the nomination of active people "like"......

Bill Dana. I remember that one.

Thanks, uncle hubie
Ms danica can get wrecked whether in the top ten or bottom ten. Only common factor is the #7 on the side.
I say you are making a mountain out of a molehill. His team mates weren't offended.
What's do you want next for NASCAR? Heltoncare?
Sheesh
