Posted Sunday October 14, 2007, About: Big Ten Network hurts poll rankings
The Big Ten Network is a damn joke. I love the Big Ten, and I'd rather watch Northwestern vs Minnesota (aka "The **** Bowl") than Arkansas vs Auburn (aka "The **** Bowl part duex"). But a whole network? That's a farce. Just stick with ABC/ESPN. The SEC has CBS to show their crap games, we have ABC to show ours. It was a tenable system. There was no point in adding a network.

I'm not sure why this is a story. Must be a slow news day in Atlanta, what with the Mike Vick idiocy petering out.
Posted Tuesday October 09, 2007, About: Penn State's disciplinary problems
Penn State is hardly the worst offender. Florida and Texas have both had numerous players held on felony arrests (and subsequently had the plaintiffs intimidated by other players or rabid fans). Penn State has a few issues, but it's hardly the worst kid on the block. JoePa will straighten this **** out fast, he always does.

Stay classy, Florida.
Posted Saturday October 06, 2007, About: Michigan's mysterious suspension
He's from Ohio, and Ohio State needs a 3rd wide receiver...if he plays well, he could leap one of their true freshmen who is playing. Maybe.
Posted Friday September 28, 2007, About: Patriot fighting dirty player label
I wish I could be surprised that a player from the University of Miami playing for the Patriots took a cheap shot at someone, but I'm not. Dirty teams recruit dirty players to do dirty deeds. Dr Z is right, suspend this goon without pay until Losman is back. That might teach him not to take cheaps shots at people's knees.
Posted Tuesday September 25, 2007, About: High-profile Irish recruit transfers
Best of luck to him. It's tough when you're not playing much and your team is struggling, but I hope this doesn't become a pattern of quitting for this kid, but I'm sure he'll do well wherever he winds up.
Posted Monday September 24, 2007, About: Bielma wants suspension modified
I like the Badgers and Bielema (can't they even spell his damn name right?), but he should just accept that the school set the suspension and then move on. Whether the suspension is fair or not, it's not his place to comment about what the AD and school decide to do. For better or worse, they run the show, not him.
Posted Sunday September 23, 2007, About: OSU leads chase for WR recruit
Who wouldn't want to play for The Vest? He plays young guys after getting big leads, so he'd almost certainly get some touches on the ball in his first season. Moreover, why in God's name would you go to Notre Dame right now? You'll get seen by scouts because you'll be on TV a lot, but you'll also be getting blown out on TV a lot. Not a good way to get into the NFL.
Posted Sunday September 23, 2007, About: Why Weis may leave Notre Dame
Notre Dame made two BCS bowls in Weis' first two seasons, but they also got absolutely slaughtered in both of those games. Under Weis, they have yet to beat a team of any merit. At what point should Domers' expectations be to beat somebody other than Army and Navy? Those are the only teams they have consistently beaten. Weis may or may not suck as a coach, but the team sure as hell isn't doing a lot under him.
Posted Thursday September 13, 2007, About: Weis: O-2 start may help recruiting
Actually, that makes a lot of sense. Look at Emanuel Moody - He wants to play, so he can't be at USC (too much depth). Now look at Notre Dame: they suck and have no depth whatsoever - if you want to be on TV a lot and get a lot of playing time, that would be a good place to go.

Of course, if you do go to Notre Dame, just don't expect to have a winning season or a national championship in your future.
Posted Thursday September 13, 2007, About: Miles questioned about Michigan interest
If Michigan offers him the job, then he'll be at Michigan next year. I have no doubt about that. The only question is whether Lloyd Carr is gone after this year and then if Michigan offers him the job.
Posted Tuesday September 11, 2007, About: Norfolk St. coach: Rather play Michigan
Who says I'm a Wolverine fan? I'm not. I'm just pointing out that the coach of Norfolk State doesn't really have the right to be calling other teams bad. It's one thing for Steve Spurrier to do it because, hey, he's actually won more than 10 games. We get it, Michigan isn't very good (in fact, they're awful, but that's neither here nor there). This guy should just shut up and take his Rutgers loss like a man, rather than trying to tear down another program. It's not like Norfolk **** State is ever going to win something, so why not take a pot shot at somebody to ease the pain, right?
Posted Tuesday September 11, 2007, About: Norfolk St. coach: Rather play Michigan
You know who I'd rather play than Michigan? Norfolk State. This coach needs to learn his place - people in tiny glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Yes, Rutgers is better than Michigan right now. No, you don't get to comment on it. You coach at Norfolk State - just shut up and lose already.
Posted Monday September 10, 2007, About: Miles mum on Michigan rumors
Yeah, why would you leave LSU to go to the school with the highest winning percentage all time, more national championships, more Heisman trophy winners, and more conference championships? Oh, and it's also your alma mater. Who would think of doing such a thing?

Any sane person would. I can't say if Les Miles is sane or not, but there's a decent chance.
Posted Saturday September 08, 2007, About: Where does App. State rank?
If you can rank teams up a division, why not allow them to be ranked down a division? I'm pretty damn sure that USC or LSU could beat ASU, why not rank them #1 in D1AA? Oh, that's right, because ranking teams out of their division is unbelievably stupid. ASU should enjoy this win, but get real guys - they do not deserve to be ranked in D1A. Michigan was clearly vastly overrated this year, leave it at that.
Posted Saturday September 08, 2007, About: USC's treatment irritates OU fans
If you honestly think Reggie Bush didn't receive unfair benefits, you're uninformed or willfully stupid. There's not a chance that his family could afford the home they lived in or cars they drove while he was at USC.

Unfortunately, there's an equally small chance of USC getting penalized. Bush bought off the only people who could possibly implicate him in this debacle, and the NCAA is toothless to pursue the matter. OU got the shaft, unfortunately. They played by the rules and got burned - I hope the NCAA realizes how this matter will ultimately lead to more and more schools refusing to cooperate.
Posted Friday September 07, 2007, About: Where does App. State rank?
I don't want to piss in ASU's cheerios, but Michigan made approximately 3 tackles in the first half. They were fundamentally unsound, undisciplined, and simply played like ****. ASU stomped UM and deserves credit, but face the facts: they're 1-5 against D1A schools in the past 6 seasons (including this year). Even if ranking them weren't phenomenally stupid, they've done pretty much nothing to deserve a ranking. If a D1A school went 1-5 and asked to be ranked in the top 25, they'd be laughed right back to South Bend, Indiana.
Posted Friday September 07, 2007, About: ASU better than Big Ten, ACC?
Kudos to Appalachian State for a great win. They played a great game and beat a team that might still win 10 games this year - that's a hell of an achievement. However, to say that they could win the Big Ten (in, admittedly, a terrible year for Big Ten schools) is ridiculous. In the 5 years leading up to this year, ASU is 0-5 against Bowl Subdivision schools and has been outscored 173-52 (only one of the teams they played in that span was ranked, mind you). They got beat by Kansas by a score of 36-8. Kansas - a perennial cellar dweller in the Big Twelve.

They should enjoy their win over Michigan - they played a great game. They're a hell of a team and will probably repeat again as Playoff Subdivision champions. But don't get too high on the horse - if you played a full 1A schedule year in and year out, you probably wouldn't have more than 3 wins on any given year. To imply otherwise just makes you look foolish.
Posted Wednesday September 05, 2007, About: Tressel was rooting for Michigan
Why on earth would an Ohio State fan want Michigan to lose? It's not a rivalry if one school wins 10 games every year and the other loses 7 every year. That's call an asswhooping, not a rivalry. Fierce competition breeds rivalry - why do you think last year's game was so interesting? Of course Tressel was rooting for Michigan.
Posted Wednesday September 05, 2007, About: Miles suggested for Michigan job
I think Les Miles will leave LSU for Michigan, solely because LSU will get rolled by USC in the national championship game. He'll cry about how the SEC is too tough and that's why USC beat them by 75 points, then he'll go to Michigan. He's a Michigan man and would jump at the chance to coach there.
