Posted Saturday February 02, 2008, About: Vikings to stick with Jackson
Jackson is just a scared deer in the headlights who doesn't have what it takes! He "aims" the ball too much bouncing off the carpet to his open receivers. Or he guns it over their heads into the arms of a waiting safety or two! Vikes should trade Chester Taylor and Kneche Udezi for Donovan McNabb and then maybe they'll win the division... Until then its just more mediocrity with a second rate QB...
Posted Tuesday December 25, 2007, About: Vikings may have to chase McNabb
McNabb would be a great addition to the Vikes provided they don't trade more than ONE draft choice for him. Maybe a draft choice and a prospect player, but NO MORE! McNabb would still need receivers to throw to unless his presence turns raw meat into seasoned steak~ but I doubt it...
Getting McNabb does not mean throwing in the towel on Jackson...it just lets Jackson mature under an experienced vet who can prep him for the big time after two - three seasons...
Posted Monday November 26, 2007, About: NFL analyst: Favre, Romo overrated
This IDIOT is off and running again! Remember a few weeks back when he listed Barry Sanders as over rated too?! I agree that winning a Super Bowl automatically takes an average statistical career and somehow elevates you to Canton....ala Lynn Swann, Bradshaw, Namath, Stabler, etc. Namath, Bradshaw, and Stabler were good QB's at best playing on the best teams in the league. If any of them traded teams with Jim Hart (St. Louis Cardinals) or Archie Manning (NO Saints) they would definitely NOT be considered of the Hall of Fame....their career statistics sure DON'T merit a place in Canton~ Check it out! Favre might be a little over rated in some ways because although he has now set most of the career passing records it is his amazing longevity, grit and toughness that wins him admiration. While he holds NFL records for the most TD passes he also holds the record for the most INT's! It's WAY to early to even put Tony Romo on the list...just not enough games in the books to judge. Just the truth....
Posted Wednesday October 17, 2007, About: Mauer to undergo surgery
Mauer has top grade talent, but can't stay healthy! What good is the talent you sign if it's on the bench all the time! His poor health cost the Twins 7-10 wins this past season!
Posted Sunday August 05, 2007, About: Mrs. A-Rod misses 500th homer
Ellen,
I agree....I have had the same thoughts --- It will be nice when someone from the non steroid era eclipses Bonds and we can put him where he belongs as just another dusty chapter of the history books.
Posted Monday July 23, 2007, About: Packers still sold on Rodgers
Favre will never retire....he will get injured and then hang up his cleats! As crazy as that sounds that is my prediction~ NFL's Iron Man will finally succomb to an injury (hopefully not too intense!) and that will be just the issue to help him finally hang it up.... Aaron Rodgers will have no excuse but to be ready....of course sideline and classroom time is NO substitute for real playing time and Rodgers will have his own learning curve (see Tarvaris Jackson this season in MN if you want an early preview of Rodgers!) before the team decides whether he is the real deal for the future! Should be interesting in any event....
Posted Sunday July 22, 2007, About: Final season for Bears QB?
Here is a laughable scenario....Grossman does well, has a career year, gets re-signed to a lucrative contract and still plays mediocre, junk football the rest of his contract and gets cut after two seasons of a 6 year deal! As a Vikings fan I would quite enjoy this very likely and probably scenario!
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Newspapers may boycott NFL games
Geeeez! If the NFL is doing this... just how low will they go to make a buck?!! Give it up!
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Culpepper's tour begins with Bucs
Let's see.....Sims, Gradkowski, Garcia, Plummer, Couch, Culpepper....why not bring in Vinny Testeverde too?
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Culpepper's tour begins with Bucs
Maybe they'll sign Culpepper as a backup TE/DE or something...he's big enough! :-)
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Viking, coach go face-to-face
The reason the Mpls Star Tribune writer wrote that Clements was a former NE player (Instead of Buffalo) is cuz that particular sportswriter is Sid Hartman -- Dude is 92 years old! He'll die before he retires....someone should edit the poor boys stories though before they actually hit the press....
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Viking, coach go face-to-face
Winfield is a stud! No one tackles better and hits harder--pound for pound! Vikings coaches should listen to him...he had a better year than they did!
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Browns QB bust wants comeback
Are Coach and Kozar married? Lucky guy....Yeah~ I forgot...Couch can go to Chicago --- yet another graveyard for successful college QB's.....the system there just buries them all! If signed, Couch just might give Grossman a run for his money!
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Browns QB bust wants comeback
Yeah....The Falcons could use some QB help...they should sign him! :-)
Who do you think is better though....Couch or Drew Hensen?
Posted Friday July 20, 2007, About: Browns QB bust wants comeback
So....what's he going to play? WR ...RB? At 245lbs...maybe TE?!! He can't play QB because no matter how great of shape he's in, no matter how mobile he is, no matter how low his body-fat percentage scores~ He still has a weak, spaghetti arm....which, last I checked, really doesn't work well in the NFL.....He could possibly be a third string back up who comes in an hands the ball off when times get desperate.....other than that ....no chance!
Posted Wednesday July 18, 2007, About: Gory details of Vick's indictment
Maybe Michael Vick can star in the next sequel of "The Longest Yard"...People don't realize it, but in many cases the punishment for animal cruelty is often more harsh and stringent than it is for abusing and torturing humans. Let's see if justice is served OR will the high profile NFL athlete skirt the law again ala OJ and get away with it...??!
Posted Wednesday July 18, 2007, About: Brady having girlfriend troubles?
Can we stick to real sports stories and leave the tabloid b. s. to the lower level medias please!
Posted Wednesday July 18, 2007, About: Vikings asked Stoops about Adrian
Good points Heywood!
Most of these blogs are serious NON stories any 15 year old could post!
Posted Wednesday July 18, 2007, About: Can Jesse break Barry's slump?
The only other publicity hound and manipulator that trumps Barry IS Jesse Jackson! While Barry could use prayer, he clearly needs it to come clean and save his soul...not to break out of a self induced publicity slump!
Posted Wednesday July 18, 2007, About: Can Jesse break Barry's slump?
Keep slumping Barry....however, it is just a sympathy ploy to get more attention for when you do decide to hit the next 5 homers. He is a master manipulator...for sure!
Posted Tuesday July 17, 2007, About: Peppers wants Freeney-type money
Give it to him! He's worth it!
