does "I'm easily confused" work as a defense? I meant Iowa. too many "I" states in the midwest... (and Illinois did win the Big 10 the year before, so my mistake makes sense in my head if not anywhere else)
I thought his dream job was Michigan, Ohio State, or Notre Dame.
And he's taking steps to be healthier and not take things so personal. will that last? who knows.
Ya'll may go around saying crap about the Big 10 being down or never as good, but it's an odd little conference. The last time OSU won a national title, Illinois was actually the winner of the Big 10. With the new alignments who knows what will happen in the coming years, but don't just dismiss 11 other teams because you don't care to actually look into something.
the only problem with mixed doubles is that you still have the screamers as half the team.
men's doubles is very watchable, and as a long time bryan brother's fan, I enjoy it. I don't watch their mixed doubles matches (if they ever are actually on) even when they are with teh doubles specialist and not the top players. too many of their opponents make my ears hurt.
side note - have you seen baby bryan pictures from roland garros? they are done commic book style - super fun.
tennis, olympics....I like the way you're thinking here hcf...I suppose horses don't count as "boys" do they? such a great meet every summer at The Spa (saratoga) with races like the Whitney and Travers leading the way...but I do like you gave a nod to the less common sports.
techincally it's greek in original orgin, french in modern orgin.
and really, what American who is a fan of the olympics doesn't want to see the US get as many metals as they can? we really like to win that metal count, which is why people who win get on the Wheaties box.
I prefer rugby. and for those that say that it's not available, you aren't looking hard enough. sometimes you have to wade thorugh a bunch of crap channels and crap times, but you can find it. also, if you have espn3 (which doesn't even require that you have cable), they have it available on there fairly often.
I'm not a fan of long contracts that'll end when the player is past 40.
so really, I think I'll just agree to disagree because I think it's stupid dh or no dh to give a 32 year old man over 250 million over 10 years no matter what team you are.
eh. I just don't see one way being better than the other. both have their pros and cons. and as for franchise guys....jeter seems to be the only one that I can recall that has spent all of his career in the same place. (granted, if it's west of the mississippi I don't really pay attention to it so I'm sure that I'm not correct on this.) point is, franchise guys aren't really out there like they used to be. you can't expect anyone to stay with the same team, it's all about the money at every single level.
I'm too lazy to go back and read any of the previous comments so this may have already been covered.
my thinking is why would the NL teams want to change up the rules to get guys that they'll end up paying way too much money to in the long run when they can just move them out and get younger guys who they don't have to pay as much to. it may work out it may not, but the same can be said for the AL teams who offer too many years on their contracts.
re: the title of this td - breeders cup is this friday/saterday. horse of the year will be decided. lots of other really good story lines (ie - goldikova going for an unpresedented 4th win in the turf mile)
ya'll just got to get off of the main sports pages of your favorite sports websites and look at what eles is out there.
I read through the comments and I just don't get how a leprechaun is racist. I remember watching games when I was in high school and they had a black leprechaun. so I'm going to go with you are just biased and wrong on this.
