Is there any way to keep the current team from feeling the effects of a 5 year old crime? Those kids were usually in Junior High when the college violations took place.
I don't know, probably on the beach (with real girls). But where was your pope? At least our cardinal colored uniforms stand for something besides molesting.
Geeez. Can't these guys already just rip trees out of the ground? Oh wait. We know they can bench press Manti Te'o (and his entire former team). That last game was delightful.
NCAA is beyond repair I think. Fair would be penalizing the perps instead of some innocent kid, 5 years down the road, when he hits the college gridiron for the first time. And college football stars are about the only people in professional show business who aren't financially compensated. And they earn real big dollars, for the NCAA that is. And the networks.
Whoa. Did I just call college football "Show business?"
I don't live in California, I'm a tourist and a born Wyoming Cowboy fan and fully apolitical. My kid chose USC and I supported the decision, and waved goodbye with tears. I gotta root for my kid's school. I fell in love with USC, and we've had a lot of fun since. Just reporting as I have witnessed it, on behalf of the friendly, multi-ethnic American people and families of South LA, who live among the tall palms along the sidewalks. Fact.
You owe South LA an apology for your uninformed and insensitive racist remark. I'm white, I walk for a mile (north or east) to the night games, passing all those horrible local residents, hopefully before they kill me and eat me or smoke me. Scary bunch---usually they tailgate in their front yards in USC colors, and it's festive. With 80 to 100 thousand people going to those parking lots after the game the great danger might be tripping over somebody. I've done this often, for many years, and can testify that the area around USC isn't scary, and has improved a great deal. Every school posts security, no? Please, come to a USC night game...let nothing but fear stop you.
I was not referencing FSU. I like FSU and all it's fans on the 'Net. I really liked your season last year. I did not mean to offend FSU ever, and I apologize. It's just that ND enjoys a lot of $$$ gain, prestige and fun with the USC rivalry so I posed the rhetorical question, to the ND fan, not you. I wish ND well however, and you, and I hope FSU (and Thomas) have another great year. USC is still hurting, but I think they've managed well, considering the penalty. The buggering goes on in those church schools, not FSU, and I cannot control my lack of respect for religious dogma.
Is this kid NFL material? If not, he missed a great opportunity to graduate from one of the world's best private research institutions---the University of Southern California. My kid left home at 17, went to USC on scholorship, and graduated in 3 years, with a Master's in 6 years. All 1300 miles from home. Now my kid works for USC and manages a department on campus. The neighborhood used to be worse, but we like it a lot now, and the locals really seem to protect the USC kids, and they seem to understand USC is a neighbor to be cherished. It's very diverse, and we've never felt threatened, and I think you would enjoy a visit, maybe see a game. I'd be honored if you joined my family at the Coliseum for some fun.
Would you rather play Florida State every year? USC is a long, long way from being a sinking ship. And USC does not have that awful reputation for buggering children.
I agree, and I don't think you or I are even religious. I have nothing but respect for the people, Van, the school and the knowledge. This story never changed my respect for ND. And, probably, I'd want this kid on my pro team too.
Weed, however, is natural. Weed, ice cold bottle of Essensia, a girl in the van who has lost her thong, take some video of your date---now that's living. That's college. Or retirement for me.
Mostly it's hilarious to imagine going to college and not getting nookie'd. Stud, star, BMOC and all for a little backwater college nobody ever heard of. Celibacy is contrary to nature, and I feel bad for these oppressed kids.
You are correct!!!!!!!! This IS a "non-story." On the 6:00 News. In 199 nations. Seventy-six languages. For 22 weeks, and in living color. Enjoyed by the Mormon Pope and millions more (of us) as we suffered for this poor cancer victim. But it really isn't news, is it? About the 23rd millionth jock to fail in the last 20 years alone. I hope he got a tat or two before she evaporated.
That's Bow Shiz as they say in the trade. But in the trades they struggle to invent flawed characters---write them in. But...here...you can't make this stuff up.
Rising phoenix. This ship sunk already. Pulling top-10 recruiting classes, with 10 less scholarships than everyone else, is one measure of success. Last year we beat Oregon and UCLA and went 10-2 on heart alone, and 45 scholarships. And we sat home and watched the bowl games, and called it success. And the ship was sunk for all the wrong reasons to begin with, and all broken up all to hell and dead on the bottom. But it's being repaired now and we're back on the rise.
Stanford in the Rose Bowl! Way to go and we wish the best.
Fight on!
Keep Calm and Johnny Football

"Who was Johnny Football?"
"Who was Johnny Football?"
"Who was Johnny Football?"
I remember Johnny Unitas.
Whoa. Did I just call college football "Show business?"
