no on in STL believes pujols is leaving. we're sick we paid Holliday too much. Carp & Waino & (hopefully) Garcia are all solid. LaRussa is just another Bobby Cox - he's good, but he's not irreplaceably proficient. And he doesn't even live here, which is what galls the locals the most - his wife still lives in NorCal and he flies back all the time (it's understandable, but still - 15years in StL!?).

The problem is, Dave Duncan is tied to LaRussa's hip, and no one wants to lose the magician who polished so many t**ds. Would we really be much worse off with a Jim Leyland type? That's the real conundrum - who do they replace LaRussa with? Jimy Williams? Grady Little? Terry Pendleton?
