Posted Wednesday August 27, 2008, About: Youkilis says 'I'm not AL MVP'
Yankees fans hate Youk, but they forget that they used to have their own beloved version of Youk ... his name was Paul O'Neill. Scrappy, hard working, animated. Anyone else remember how many times O'Neill slammed batting helmets around and had tantrums? He was also a heck of a ballplayer. Bottom line is, Youk plays hard every single play and that gets on the nerves of some people. I don't like the Yanks, but I respect the heck out of Derek Jeter because he plays that way. Some clueless Yankee fans don't recognize talent or hard work unless it's in the Bronx.
Posted Thursday April 24, 2008, About: Hunter reveals racist Fenway taunts
Anyone else notice that this FanNation stuff just dredges up old stories that they know will ignite a stream of overly passionate responses from fans of different teams? Let's put a Red Sox story up because we know we'll get a couple hundred "Sox fans are obnoxious" comments from closeted Yankees fans. These aren't real stories. They're manufactured to get all of us to respond. And, judging from some of the half-wit responses in here, it's working. Lame.
Posted Sunday April 20, 2008, About: Are Cubs fans 'most obnoxious?'
So, Red Sox fans are obnoxious because they support their team and travel to other stadiums to root for them? As I said to an Orioles fan last year who was upset at nearly half of Camden Yards being Sox fans, "If you don't want the opposing team's fans in your park, then try buying tickets to your own team's games". Sox fans are far less obnoxious than the "26 championship" Yankee fans. Yankees fans are incapable of having a discussion about baseball without reminding you how many WS championships the franchise has won. It's called "Yankees Tourrette's Syndrome". And, my favorite tshirt of this year says, "$1.4 Billion Spent Since 2001 And All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt".
Posted Saturday January 26, 2008, About: Chickens outdraw All-Stars in Atlanta
This is the stupidest story on here today. What does the attendance at an unrelated convention have to do with the attendance at a hockey game? Let's see ... nothing. It's just a humorous headline CNN can put to make you read the meaningless story. Now, if they said that given the choice, more people actually chose to attend a chicken convention over the hockey game, that would be a story. Otherwise, there's no story. Conventions draw huge crowds in cities all over the country. All the people trashing Atlanta are just too stupid to realize they took the bait on the story ...

I think Testaverde will be available.
Posted Monday December 24, 2007, About: Clemens videotapes denial
Plus, what makes the Clemens thing even more appalling is how he used the extra performance and endurance he gained through these drugs to extort millions of dollars from the Astros and Yankees. Seriously, has someone counted how many millions he made after he started juicing? Even give him the Toronto years as a gimme and you're still looking at what ... 50 mil? 70 mil? That's the shame here. This greedy ba****d made a killing and now is content to lie about it to the people who paid him all of that money.
Posted Monday December 24, 2007, About: Clemens videotapes denial
Clemens is a lying p***y. I can forgive those who own up to it (even if they only did after they were caught), but I can't forgive the ones who are so arrogant (see Bonds, Barry and Clemens, Fatso) that they will forever hide behind lies.

Not soon enough, AllStarz. :) No matter which team you root for, that day never comes fast enough.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: Red Sox shopping for pitching
Hey AllStarz, I didn't mention Sox dominance in my post, did I? As a matter of fact, I didn't mention the Sox at all. Just mentioned Yankees fans clinging to faded glory. You're assuming too much about allegiances here. There are others who find Yankee fans amusing besides Sox fans.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: Red Sox shopping for pitching
Whaler is suffering from Yankees Tourrette's Syndrome. It's where Yankees fans can't have a baseball discussion of any kind without mentioning 26 championships at some point. It's humorous, but sad. Yankees fans aren't capable of intelligent discourse. They just like to stroke their 26 (did I mention 26?) championship trophies and act smug. Get over yourselves and admit that history, as great as it is, is just that ... history. Isn't it time for your nurse to give you your meds so you can go back to hugging your Scott Brosius bobblehead doll and dreaming of the glory days? It's OK. You can now safely go back to loving, hating, loving, hating, and loving (again) the greatest Yankee of all time, A-Rod. At least you guys are predictable.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: Red Sox shopping for pitching
It's comical how jealous fans of other teams are of the Sox now. Just read some of the comments they make. Never thought I'd see the day when the Sox were the target of that kind of abuse. I kind of like it. I especially like when Yankees fans get all worked up over the Sox winning. Apparently they don't like looking in the mirror.
Posted Wednesday November 14, 2007, About: Steroids dealer claims Cowboys clients
I'm originally from New England and am an avid Red Sox fan, so I share a background with many of the posters in here. I'm not and have never been a Patriots fan. I laugh at the arrogrance that Patriots fans have these days. They're a great, great team. 3 Super Bowls is amazing. But come on Pats fans, you've become the most annoying fans in sports. When I was growing up, you couldn't find 3 kids in school who admitted they were Pats fans. Suddenly, they win and the world is full of Pats fans. Slow your bandwagon down for a second and ask how many of you will still be there if your team goes back to its 4-12 seasons. And, for the record, just because your player 'fessed up' to his steroid use doesn't make it any different than the ones who got caught red-handed. Cheating is cheating. The action is what matters here, not the apology.
Posted Wednesday November 14, 2007, About: Steroids dealer claims Cowboys clients
Show me one team in the NFL not involved with steroids. So, do all the other posters taking cheap shots at the Cowboys think their favorite teams are innocent? Steroids have been prevalent in the NFL since the 1970s. Just ask some of those great Steeler teams from that era. It was widely known around the NFL that those guys were heavily into steroids, but there was no testing back then. This is an ongoing problem that won't spare anyone, but putting the story here with the Cowboys name is sexier and more polarizing.
Posted Tuesday November 06, 2007, About: Are Sox insiders to Mitchell Report?
Another case of the NY media passing unfounded stories about the Red Sox. That's like the NY Times article a few weeks back where the writer insinuated that the Sox were dirty because they never get mentioned in any steroid probes. That's like me saying that writer is a murderer because she has never been accused of murder.

Love the jealous NY media. NY has never learned how to deal with not being the top story and now they just make stuff up.

Saadomy = frustrated Pirates fan

Your punishment for being an idiot, Mr. Saadomy, is to try to run the bases in a major league baseball game with a torn mensicus. And, then while you're busting **** to try to win ball games with an injury, some moron who's never played the game sits in his mom's basement and belittles you in a sports blog. How's that for a start?
Posted Saturday October 13, 2007, About: Will Yankees call A-Rod's bluff?
Boras' logic made me laugh. He's trying to say that A-Rod has increased Yankee attendance by a million or so since he got there. So, he says that even though they had been in six of eight World Series before A-Rod arrived, he still raised their attendance. The pessimist in the crowd would read that and realize that A-Rod joined a team that had gone to six World Series in eight years and has gone to exactly ... none (that's zero, nil, nada) since he came to New York. So, sign A-Rod and you'll draw fans, but you won't win championships.

Actually, when you factor in the conversion rate, this story is 20% funnier in Canada than it is in the US.
Posted Sunday July 22, 2007, About: Red Sox scouting Teixeira
Unless I'm missing something, the Sox would have to move Lowell or Youk to make this work. Either of those is a big mistake at this point. Youk hasn't made an error at 1B in over 130 games and is hitting over .300. Lowell is hitting .300 and is a leader on that team. Bad move to get Texeira, but I think Theo is concerned the Yankees will grab him. Texeira would be ideal for the Yankees because he fills a huge hole there for them.
Posted Sunday July 01, 2007, About: Torre goes nose-to-nose with pitcher
This is great stuff. Maybe they can take turns throwing one of the 26 world series trophies at each other. It's about as close as the Yankees will get to the trophy this year.
Posted Friday June 22, 2007, About: Orioles surprised by Girardi's rejection
Two things:

1. Joe Girardi is vastly overrated as a manager.
2. The Orioles will never be taken seriously by free agents or top talent/managers as long as Peter Angelos owns them.
