Posted Wednesday September 16, 2009, About: Niners owner offers Crabtree sit-down
Then why the **** did you waste your time posting on this blog?

Here, let me help you... the reason Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno left Georgia early was because in the initial stories about renegotiating the CBA, there was talk of a rookie cap, so Stafford and Moreno jumped before 2010... this was BEFORE Stafford was miraculously elevated (thanks Detroit) to #1 status. At the time, he was MAYBE the best QB in the draft. Turns out, the Lions thought he was. If the CBA is renegotiated and there is a capped year in 2010, there will be a serious rookie cap... so why the hell would Crabtree roll that dice? Even his agent is exasperated by his behavior at this point.
Posted Wednesday January 21, 2009, About: Will Devils deal for defenseman?
the Bruins just need to get healthy... they have a great core of youth and speed, with a great system for their talent on D... get Lucic and Kessel back healthy and our need for LW diminishes, greatly. You know things are bad when PJ Axelsson is playing on the power play... he couldn't shoot one into Boston Harbor while standing on Pier 4.
Posted Friday December 05, 2008, About: Stars owner: Hull not to blame for Avery signing
I'm not defending Sean Avery's stupidity here, but why is he denied the right to free speech? He didn't say anything profane. It was classless and stupid, but it wasn't profane.

Anyway, who is Gary Bettman to pull out the conduct detrimental to the game of hockey? When does he serve his suspension for that? He's only been detrimental to hockey for what... ten years now? Taking out the fighting and defense to try to "open up" the game? The NHL is nothing more than a battle of special teams and shoot outs. When does he serve the suspension for that? Expanding the league into cities that can't support an NHL franchise, thus watering down the product on ice? When's his suspension for that? Signing a contract with a low level cable operation and a "revenue sharing" deal with a broadcast network that loses money on the NHL? When does he serve that suspension?

Bottom line, suspending Avery only saved him from getting absolutely pummeled by Dion Phaneuf. Just come out and say you suspended him for his own protection and not for making comments "detrimental to the game of hockey". Hell, every speech Gary Bettman makes can be construed as comments "detrimental to the game of hockey".
Posted Friday October 31, 2008, About: Fox may re-assign Danyelle Sargent
Actually, she's had a mistake prone career thus far. The reason she is with Fox was she got canned by ESPN. Look her up on YouTube... she dropped the F bomb during some highlights on ESPNews... not to mention the fact, she was awful.
Posted Friday September 05, 2008, About: New Orleans chasing Final Four
Philatron... I guess you're forgetting the NBA All Star Game and National Championship Game held within a couple of weeks of each other in New Orleans this past winter... with Mardi Gras sandwiched between them... all events went off without a hitch and brought tens of millions of tax dollars to the city. When I first got to New Orleans in 1981, they still had crap laying around from Hurricane Betsy!! It's just the way of life in that city.
Posted Tuesday August 12, 2008, About: Lions eject fan heckling Williams
This is a thin line... on one hand, you do have a lunch bucket loser heckling a pro player, but on the other hand, you have a guy making tens of millions of dollars, playing a game for a living. The point is, if you decide to take the "fame" road to riches, you've opted to take the criticism that comes along with it, should you not do your job to the expectations of your fans (along with the loss of privacy and being under a constant microscope). This heckler voiced his opinion about Williams not earning his salary, and he wasn't profane about it. Williams suggested they "switch" jobs. Hell, for $20 million bucks, I'd endure a few hits from cornerbacks while he can sit at my desk and wonder if he's going to be downsized in this horrible economy, working with a bunch of lazy sales reps who cause my income to shrink.

Yankee fans hate Youkilis for having the unmitigated gall to be pi$$ed when that Wild Thing wannabe Joba threw at him.... twice now. I hope Joba enjoys his season in the bigs... he'll have arm trouble after Girardi ruins him this year and will probably never see the majors again. Youk is a competitor who doesn't take any crap... he can hit, he can field and he's a spark plug in the clubhouse. At least HE'LL stand up to Manny Being Manny.

An upgrade from Youkilis? In what way is that? Defense? no. Offense? Power, maybe, but batting average, clutch hitting and working the count? No way. Youk is a cornerstone of the Boston franchise and should spend his entire career in Boston. Texeira's best days are behind him... the had inflated stats because of a power friendly ball park in Texas... he's nothing in that home run graveyard in Atlanta.
Posted Tuesday June 17, 2008, About: Is Garnett a franchise player?
Here's where Artest proves he's a "me" guy. From day 1, Garnett has continued to allow the Celtics to be Paul Pierce's team. His presence alone stepped up Pierce's game, and improved the overall defense of the Celtics. If Artest could recognize a "team player", he wouldn't have made those comments about Garnett. Garnett realizes what the greater "good" is... Artest is too busy planning his next hip hop album.

Bean town better wrap this up in game 6. I wouldn't want a game 7 against a guy that can singlehandedly beat you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------

That was my exact thought about LeBron in the Cleveland series. That turned out OK, though. If this game goes 7, the rest of the Lakers will be so sick of Kobe's whining, yelling and complaining that he will have to score 100 points for the Lakers.

If I was in Mickey Loomis' position in New Orleans, this would be my offer: we'll take you, but here's the contract... NFL minimum... incentive bonuses for games played... if you have one incident with the law or violate one team rule, suspension or no suspension, you pay back every dime we paid you... end of story. If the NFL Player's Union won't allow that contract, then they will look like the are condoning bad behavior.
