I've seen him at 5 or 6 tour stops. Same old jokes each time and same comments on the course and course conditions.
Trevino's tiresome schtick.
You?
Badly!
And "smarmy"?
Hardly.
Sophisticated, well-travelled and erudite, yes.
Smarmy, never.
Their wacky antics are always on the cutting edge, comedy-wise.
Wait 'till he has to ****-can his pard.
Yeah, that's right.
This thing is going to be attended by a portion of the local "soccer holligan" gentry, fueled by Castlemaine XXXX and smokes, replete with tats and piercings, looking to kick in some yankee skulls.
That's what really bugs me.
These guys really have to get it together on the wardrobe front.
Geez.
The fact is, Brazil is a second world country and roving populations of opportunists systematically work this way in Rio, and in every other large city around the world. I was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Frankly, I couldn't care less whether you think it's "make belief" or not.
Another thing, if you're going to use 50 cent words like "bloviate", string together correct sentences while on your rant.
It's like Chill Wills acting in a Cecil B. DeMille production. Great visuals but you're tripping all over your lines.
Get through high school first.
But really, we should live in a world right out of the "old white guy" manual. A little slice of heaven conjured up through rheumy eyes and conservative minds.
We will pray for you.
A city where the murder rate is high and 90% of said murders remain unsolved.
In fact, the last time I was in Rio, walking to work from my hotel, I was surrounded by 13-15 8 to 10 year olds with large sticks, broken cricket bats, etc.
They told me to give up my watch or they were gonna beat the **** outta me - in nearly perfect English.
A passing cab driver bailed me out. That character hauled me the rest of the way to work and received a huge tip.
That's the funniest thing I've read on FN in a long time.
That's good, Jonis, real good.
Next time, just bring a fly-swatter.
He can hire people for that. He can visualize what he wants and the experts can advise him on whether it's plausible or not.
There's a helluva lot of golf pro's out there designing golf courses without "golf course engineering/design degrees."
He's let a few get away.
