This thing is going to be attended by a portion of the local "soccer holligan" gentry, fueled by Castlemaine XXXX and smokes, replete with tats and piercings, looking to kick in some yankee skulls.

Honestly, why would I "make belief" on something like this.

The fact is, Brazil is a second world country and roving populations of opportunists systematically work this way in Rio, and in every other large city around the world. I was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Frankly, I couldn't care less whether you think it's "make belief" or not.

I dig the comments Jonis makes. He keeps it all grounded, you know? The fact is, you don't know shinola about Jonis. You know a damn sight less about him than I do. He's a-okay, man.

Another thing, if you're going to use 50 cent words like "bloviate", string together correct sentences while on your rant.

It's like Chill Wills acting in a Cecil B. DeMille production. Great visuals but you're tripping all over your lines.

This is going to be an Olympic event like no other.

A city where the murder rate is high and 90% of said murders remain unsolved.

In fact, the last time I was in Rio, walking to work from my hotel, I was surrounded by 13-15 8 to 10 year olds with large sticks, broken cricket bats, etc.

They told me to give up my watch or they were gonna beat the **** outta me - in nearly perfect English.

A passing cab driver bailed me out. That character hauled me the rest of the way to work and received a huge tip.

What the hell are you talking about? What does he need a degree in golf course engineering/ design for?

He can hire people for that. He can visualize what he wants and the experts can advise him on whether it's plausible or not.

There's a helluva lot of golf pro's out there designing golf courses without "golf course engineering/design degrees."
