I still don't see how you can give Pat round two. He had a clean takedown at the beginning of the round and lit hit up on the feet. Pat landed one or two good elbows from the clinch, but that was it. And his few grinding takedowns, several of which were stuffed, never let to any dominant positions or damage on the ground.
Ground work was equal, striking was drastically in favor of Hirota.
His sub awareness wasn't very good. He had good escapes, but he got himself in bad positions. Guys like Nog and especially Werdum would tap him if he did that to them.
His boxing isn't exactly crisp either. His speed beat Barnett to the punch, but I would be surprised if he got boxed up by JDS, AO, Fedor, maybe even Kharitonov or Mir.
His wrestling is top notch though, best in the division. No one can stop him from taking them down at least once over 5 rounds.
AO is still number 2, Werdum or Cain should be 3, then maybe DC at 4. If Mir looks great against JDS or even wins somehow then he either takes 4 or JDS drops to 4.
The round was close before that, but I wouldn't say either guy was owning the other. The upkick was a clear knockdown though, split his nose open and dropped Frankie. If a clear knockdown like that isn't enough to win a round than I don't know what should be.
Jeez, I had really low expectations and I thought the fight was good.
Condit moved a lot sure, but he did real damage in the latter rounds, especially round 4. He put together slick punching kicking combinations, and he avoided being hit almost entirely by Diaz.
I thought the fight wass close, first time around I had it 49-48 Condit, after re-watching I gave the first to Diaz, instead of a 10-10, making it a draw in my book.
I thought it was a good fight, but then again I was expecting Diaz to rout Condit.
I love Shogun, but he would not do well against a guy who is basically his size, with way better and more diverse striking.
Shogun has a real simple attack at this point. Loopy punches, powerful and well timed though they are, and low kicks just aren't enough to beat Anderson.
Shogun has great ground and pound, but I don't see him getting Anderson there.
Two of the judges gave Carlos round 5, and those same judges gave him the first two. How is round 3, a round I thought he lost, the only round they thought he won? He should have won round 5 for sure, and if you give someone round 1 it would probably be Diaz.
I must admit, if those first two rounds were a "must decide", I give at least one of them (The First) to Nick for sure. Probably the second as well.
How a 49-46 card comes out of that fight for Carlos is hard to say.
Judging is broken. We need more 10-10's or the ten point must system simply doesn't work.
Pretty solid one at that.

It is disgusting how many people scored the second 10-9. If you scored it that way then you should kill yourself.
1. 10-9 Rich
2. 10-8 Wanderlei
3. 10-9 Rich
4. 10-9 Rich
5. 10-9 Wanderlei
I could see giving Wand the first too, giving him the win. I can also see 48-46 Franklin, giving Wanderlei the second only.
49-46 is unacceptable though.

Why did they move it from Saturday?

How did you give Frankie both the 2nd and the 4th Jim?

How did you judge it Jim? Just curious.
