Our bet can finally conclude then. Anderson will not get tapped by Weidman. We've hashed this out a million times, no sense in belabouring a dead horse.
Werdum landed not only more but also more effective strikes in the Overeem fight. Other than a crushing knee to the body in the second Overeem's offense was neutralized by Fabricio.
Someone please explain to me how Clay Guida has been branded one of the most exciting fighters in the sport and Werdum catches he'll for that fight. What was he supposed to do exactly? Trade strikes in open space with the K-1 WGP champion? Or clinch with the most dangerous knee striker in the sport?
Or was his strategy of pressing forward with violent flurries (and landing) and trying to lure Overeem into the most dangerous guard in the history of the HW division?
Vitor has looked a lot more juiced up in the past though.
Plus, I'm pretty sure it is out there now that he is on TRT. That would account for his looking juiced.
I have a little bit of a hypocritical stance on this. I gave Sonnen crap for it, but I'm fine with Vitor and Hendo doing it. We need to get Noguiera and Wanderlei on this stuff.
I worded that poorly; I didnt mean Jose was better at everything. Boxing is close, Jose is definitely the superior striker in my mind. Jose moves very well also, before he tires that is.
Frankie does have better wrestling, especially takedowns. He hasn't really shown good control on top, but he doesn't seem to try real hard to maintain top position after a takedown.
I have absolutely no idea what will happen in Aldo/Edger.
Jose is better in all areas, but Frankie is the king of stick and move and quick takedowns. Jose is huge but his cardio has shown cracks over and over again. If he looks in the later rounds like he did with Hominick in this fight, Frankie could stop him lack
I'd say this: Luke's TDD looked solid against Tim Kennedy. Kennedy isn't as good a wrestler as Weidman. He has good movement, I do think he could use his kicks (set up by punches) to move around Luke if he can stay vertical.
I see that fight going this way: Weidman grounds him in the first 3 rounds, beats him up. He could stop him, and that is probably what would happen. But, Chris would probably be at a cardio disadvantage to Luke, who we have seen go five fives and still look pretty fresh. He could stick and move with his really accurate punches, use that nice turnback roundhouse which we never see from anyone else in MMA, and do some real damage if Weidman fades enough to not get takedowns the whole fight. Leg kicks could slow Chris down as well.
And everyone will say "Will then stop Guida from taking you down." That was an awful decision. And now Hioki has 2 losses in a row, possibly one away from getting axed.
This is why Clay should be cut. He just makes for horrible to watch fights and tricks judges into robbing contenders.
If Weidman wins, I agree that would be how. I think that Jacare would hit him hard on the feet, since Jacare has no fear of being taken down, and when Weidman does take him down I see a sweep and sub finish.
That would be a great fight though. I'd like to see that as a #1 contendership bout at 185.
I think Hendricks clearly lost Koscheck, and everyone knows that he won't land that left hook on GSP. He is Kos Lite, and he has no shot at beating GSP.
Diaz on the other hand will sell more PPV's and give GSP a much better test. I'd be fine if they skipped over Hendricks as long as there are more interesting challengers out there.
Anybody have odds out yet for this fight?

Then have Bigfoot fight the winner of Hunt/Struve for the next shot after Werdum.
And in the meantime we can see JDS vs Overeem.
I'm not being an ass, I know $45 can be more than some can afford, but I firmly believe if you can afford it you should buy it.

What a great fight, I'm so very excited.
Nog. Dec (Unrealistic, but Nog is one of my favorite LHW's)
Overeem TKO 1
Maia Dec
McCall KO 2
Tibau KO 1 (Love me some Gleison)
Woodley Dec (which I will disagree with)
Volkman Dec
Edwards KO 1
Kimura Dec
Figeroa Dec

I would probably favor Weidman in that fight.

Who wins a fight between Jacare and Weidman and how?
I'm interested to hear your take on this potential match.
