Smith has always been a clown. He does have talent, but, as the Knicks now see...it doesn't make up for his childish ways. I was happy when he left my Nuggets.
For those defending JR. Remember, this is a guy who killed his best friend in an auto accident because he was too impatient to wait at a 4 way stop. He felt he was more important than the car in front of him so he tried to pull around them and was t-boned. Shows you what kind of guy JR is.

This is a boneheaded move by the Nats. I know they think they are being pragmatic with this decision but you MUST strike while the iron is hot in MLB. The playoffs are very difficult to get to in this league. I think they should shut him down until the post-season starts then bring him back. What if he doesn't pitch this year then blows out his arm next spring training?
The reward continues to be far greater than the risk. Unless MLB uses 2 year bans for 1st positive ala Olympic level punishment they will continue with this problem. The rules SHOULD be 2 years for 1st positive, banned for life for 2nd positive.
As an LBJ fan you sure as heck should care. If he finishes with one ring he will be laughed out of the discussion when the "all-time greats" are debated.
Never happen in a million years. Luck is a close to a lock as you can get for a rookie, the best QB prospect since Elway. RGIII, while intriguing, has more questions about him. He's a top notch kid with great talent durability is a question mark. He has a track guy's body....which is great for a WR but may not hold up as well at QB. Both are great prospects but Luck is still clearly the #1 choice.
RG3 is a tantalizing prospect but he's much less of a sure than than Andrew Luck. For one thing, he's even smaller than Vick and we've all seen how well Vick holds up to NFL LB's and DE's hitting him. That's a major concern. Kid does have a great attitude and seems very intelligent so those are big positives. Still, for me 3 #1's is too much. I'd do that for Luck but not for RG3. I'd still like to get him (as a Bronco fan) but he's far riskier.
Not even close. Amphetamines aren't in the same league as steroids. Steroids make a player have 100% energy every day, every game, every at bat, etc. That's something amphetamines cannot do and that's why the #'s for steroids cheats reflect that.
Fine however your take misses the whole point of why juicing is wrong. The real point is the game should be fair at least to the extent that the player with the best talent moves up through the system, plays the most, etc. A juiced player like Brady Anderson hit 50 hrs one year and wasn't near the player those numbers represented. Someone who was actually better than Brady Anderson lost his opportunity at the expense of a drug cheat. That's where the real unfairness is. No one cares about the juicers themselves...the point is it cheats the fairness of the game itself.
What's the problem with his comment? He's 100% correct. Tebow is arguably the worst passer in NFL history but he does have SOME game. Kid can run and is tough but let's not pretend he could succeed in any other offense because we know he can't.
And a word of warning Knicks fans...Melo is a truly gifted scorer but is also flat out lazy and uninsterested on defense. He's an asset for sure but he's one-dimensional....you'll need someone else to pick up his defensive slack.
There is some risk waiting until summer but I think the Knicks would be wise to wait. I'm a Nugs fan so I hope they don't but Melo has made it painfully clear to anyone paying attention that he wants to be a Knick no matter what it takes. The Knicks should simply sign him this summer....end of story.
The Rockies won't give up top flight prospects for Young because he's not worth that much in trade value because of the contract and his age. He's a very good hitter and a decent fielder so the Rockies would be wise to get him as it would improve them at 2b but they won't have to give up a lot. Also, the Rangers will have to eat a major portion of that contract for any deal to happen. The Rockies have already publicly stated they cannot take on more payroll after the Tulo/Cargo extensions.
Folks, the Cardinals were around LONG before Pujols and will be long after him. Yes it sucks for Cards fans if he leaves but this whole "No Pujols, No Cardinals" is dumb. One player doesn't make a team...even Babe Ruth left the Yankees at some point.
As it should be. You CAN have both. Coors Field has a beautiful old hand operated scoreboard in RF and the standard mega jumbotron scoreboard in left-center. Best of both worlds.
