I meant that, were I a player in the NFL, I would resist any effort to make me a Jet because it would be a waste of those years of my career. Most players only get a few years in the league. So I'm saying the current state of the Jets is "career sucking black hole". The "next few years" just means until Ryan's gone and his mess has been swept up as much as possible.
All kidding aside, I've always liked this kid and I genuinely feel bad for him that he's playing for that team at this time. It just seems like a place where careers go to die for the next few years. The Jets fans should stage a coup d'etat.
I hope he'll do well. He has a hell of an incentive not to backslide and get into codeine again: a five year stretch he'd probably have to do all of. He was sentenced to six years, but he did less than a year. Shock Probation. They suspend the other five years and give him ten years of what usually amounts to zero tolerance probation. The point is he only gets the second chance. Won't be a third. Not in the NFL, anyway.

I believe the notion of a rift was a Florio creation.
No one said there's no other QB, we said "who are you going to get who is as good as Romo". I stand by the question. Seriously, who was a better option out there? Romo hasn't reached his potential, agreed, but he's still much better than anyone who was available. If you can name a QB who IS better and was available this year we'll modify our opinions. As far as Garrett, though... I don't think you can even jokingly say he's the best option, but none of it matters anyway because JJ is still the idiot wizard behind the curtain.
Oh no no no, my friend, you should tell it like it is. Your Tribe just DESTROYED my Mariners. Three walkoff HRs in three games? Know what Dave Sims, our play-by-play guy, said to Mike Blowers, our color guy? "Race you to the airport." Amen to that. They couldn't get out of Cleveland fast enough.
Texas is a very different place from... like... anywhere else. If my grandmother got busted here in Washington state with an unregistered gun with hollow points she'd be in the KingCo Jail in no time flat.
Who would spend $40,000 for that? That's the kind of money you spend to take a year-long trip around the world. For forty grand you can summit Everest or do any number of other things that would be a highlight of your life. Why would you spend 40k to party with a clueless dude like Gronk?
