Posted Monday October 15, 2007, About: Source: Boras' estimates don't add up
All this story talks about is big markets like New York and Boston where everybody already watches baseball, where would A-Rod have a greater financial impact, Chicago where everybody watches either the Cubs or the White Sox or Florida where nobody watches the Marlins are the Devil Rays. If they had the excitement of a big name in Miami, Tampa Bay, or Washington DC maybe those small market teams could get more fans. The big cities already have a ton of viewers.
Posted Monday October 15, 2007, About: Japanese pitcher on Cubs wish list
This guy sounds like Kei Igawa, a good 3-5 starter and we are all watching Igawa's great year, in the MINORS.
Posted Thursday September 13, 2007, About: MLB wants HGH test in '08
I didn't know that there was a reliable test yet, if there is, this would be great because as a fan I want to know that all of the guys are clean. If there isn't a consistent test, then I don't want any part of this because I don't want to see guys get in trouble when they are clean.
Posted Sunday May 06, 2007, About: Mets to dangle Milledge for pitcher?
While the Mets do have a surplus of pitching, I want to see the younger guys stay in the minors. They can still do that with Sosa in the fifth spot and send down Pelfrey, who had a good start today, to New Orleans (AAA). Then, Sosa can be traded, sent to the bullpen, or sent to the minors when Pedro comes back. One other thing to think about is that the Mets have Carlos Gomez and Fernando Martinez in the minors. It will be interesting how the outfield is set up in Citi Field in 2009 with Milledge, Martinez, Gomez, and Beltran who could all be quality hitters/ outfielders.
Posted Sunday April 29, 2007, About: NBA lottery system under review?
Two things
1. the NFL is horrible because if you throw games you are guaranteed the top pick
2.after the NHL lockout, Sydney Crosby, aka the next Wayne Gretzky was in the draft. Every team in the league had a chance at the top pick by the number of playoff appearances in the past three years. I think the NBA should combine that with the teams record that season and you have yourself the perfect draft lottery where teams would not be able to throw one season to get the top pick, but consistently bad teams would always have a better shot at he pick.
Posted Sunday April 29, 2007, About: Leading candidate for Yankees' job
What about Joe Girardi? He was rumored to have opted out of being the Nationals manager so he could wait a season and manage the Yankees.
Posted Thursday April 26, 2007, About: Rivera, Abreu could be leaving Yanks
A-Rod has the Angels, BoSox, Cubs?, and other teams that could pay even more than the Yanks will next year. Mo did not sign an extension because the Yankees wanted to see him this season. Unless he gets out of his bad start, his days in pinstripes are done. Finally, Abreu hasn't played in NY for a full season and now there are other clubs that want him that could pay more than the cost cutting Yankees that have a better chance of winning a World Series. There is a good chance the Yankees lose every one of these guys.
