Matt Derbyshire's loan to Olympiakos was great for him, maybe the same could work for Jozy.

However, as someone else pointed out Olympiakos recently made Derbyshire's move permanent and they also already have highly regarded Brazilian striker Diogo. However, if Diogo is sold (which is rumored) then I think he would almost be guaranteed a decent amount of playing time, as his only competition would be a couple young Greek guys...

This all goes back to the decision to build the Nou Mestalla and the inability to sell the current Mestalla (as the real estate market has completely collapsed in Spain-similar to the problem faced by Arsenal and the Highbury site).

Also, the horrendously poor and expensive signings of Ronald Koeman left the club in a huge hole...in retrospect they should have convinced Silva or Villa to make a big money move in January, however, they were so intent on qualifying for the CL next season and they figured they could make it until the summer, not sure they thought things would get this bad.

My dream scenario is that LFC is purchased by one of these Middle Eastern consortium and they move in like vultures on Valencia (targeting Villa and Ra??l Albiol).

Give me a break, this is just the typical, jealous Platini/Blatter style non-sense emanating from Europe toward the Prems dominances...the EPL is the greatest football league in the world, its incredibly entertaining and provides drama every week of the season, despite the onset of a global recession, the Prems TV deal is expected to provide even greater revenue for its members and attendence to matches is still very high...

And is the Prem solely to blame for ridiculous transfer fees? Was it not Real Madrid that is willing to pay 50-75 million pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo?

That said, Beckham has been shockingly poor in the 2nd half of this season, anyone who has watched the LA Galaxy the last few weeks (outside of the DCU game) can see that he looks tired and frustrated...and when was the last time he scored on a set piece????

Foreign imports like Schelotto and Huckerby are playing far better, for much smaller salaries, I know these guys aren't the marketing machines like Beckham, but at some point his contribution on the field must questioned.

He will be gone when the summer transfer window opens, NYRB has already prepared for this with the signing of Echteverry (sp?), if he went to Heerenveen, he wouldn't be playing with Bradley, there is very little chance he will be back with the club next year, as next year he could leave on a free, they will certainly cash in on any offer that comes from Blackburn, Everton, Villa (as rumored in the British press)...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, I know Rooney had an injury earlier this season and Giggs and Scholes have been hampered by niggling injuries, but Arsenal has had far more (in addition to serious injuries) to important players (RVP, Eduardo, Toure, Rosicky, etc), I'm not saying they should use it as an excuse if they fail to win the title, but to compare the injury plight I think is unfair and I'm a LFC supporter who dislikes both teams.

And don't even mention Neville, the guy is well past his sell-by date and hasn't played much for a season and a half...

A comparison to Denilson is ridiculous, Ze Roberto played in the 2006 World Cup and still is competing at a high level consistently in one of the world's best leagues, while Denilson retired from international football in 2003 and had been playing in Saudi Arabia before he headed to the US.

If his contract runs out in 2009, that means he could join MLS in midseason 2009, a year and a half from now, ala Beckham last season, and he would be 34 or 35 and NOT 37, where are you people getting your math??????????????? Listen to what Bayern is saying...
