It wouldn't mean much if his placement at the front of the organization wasn't accompanied by a complete and total scrubbing of the entire organization. He's doing more for the sport by running camps for kids than he would be if he was getting used as a PR tool by his old club.

The playbooks may be NFL style, but the program isn't. There's a reason Pete Carroll has had much greater success as a college coach than as an NFL coach, and it has absolutely nothing to do with X's and O's.

And Randy Shannon's still just a shade over .500 after 2 years at Miami, so it's not really accurate or appropriate right now to say whether what he's doing is "working" or not.

My guess is either A, he came to his senses that dropping out of school mid-semester wasn't going to help him see playing time any sooner, or B he got an earful from mom and dad when he got back home in Omaha.

Geez so one team installs a college offense and it fails, the Kansas City Chiefs right in the middle of a 20-year stretch where they didn't win their own division of all teams, therefore it'll never work anywhere. How many teams run the West Coast Offense only to end up at 3-13, 4-12 each year? Does that mean nobody should run that either?

Maybe you can explain why teams keep calling Urban Meyer asking for input, then.

The irony of these allegations is that Michigan's players did all those extra workouts and still got thrashed in the second half of games when you'd think being in better shape would have given them an edge. It's like a guy in baseball getting caught doing steroids, and he was still only hitting 10-14 homers a year anyway.

Anyways, transferring out of the program saying you don't like the new coach or the new culture around the program is one thing, and to be expected, but to have a bunch of kids start throwing allegations of NCAA violations around is completely another. Hate to see a traditional power go through this, but I kind of suspected it would happen eventually with Rodriguez running the show.

Not to mention they're probably quitting because they can't make it to the top of the depth chart... there are backups, and there are backups who quit... not a good proposition for Miami or any other team

This is dumb. We have down-and-distance combinations termed as "obvious passing situations", and nobody ever says the forward pass is too obvious to get used.

And shame on you if you think nobody in the NFL has ever seen a running quarterback before. They all DID have to play college ball at some point.
