Posted Tuesday April 15, 2014, About: Beltre irked by DL stint
Too many players are selfish and tries to play hurt. then they end up hurting team when in a critical situation the player walks, goes to second on a single with two out and down a run. the next batter singles into gap in right center and player is thrown out at home and ends threat or he game because that player could not run because of injury. Now that you cost the team the loss and now the goat, to explain the inability to score was because of the injury. Too many times players wait until they cost teams wins before they report he injury.

Paying Pence that kind of money could prove to be a mistake. Unlike 3B men, outfielders are much easier to replace for a lot less than they paid Pence.
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2014, About: Giants done dealing with Sandoval
Good defensive 3b men who can hit are hard to find. Unless the Giants have a plan B they may have to bite the bullet and work out a deal.
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2014, About: Will Yasiel Puig derail Dodgers' World Series hopes?
Sit Puig for 3 or 4 games. maybe he will get the message. If not maybe a week in Triple A will adjust his attitude. Very few players have the talent to make HOF and managers realize that. But two things any player can do is be on time and give 100% effort. Failing to do these is unacceptable. Puig came into league and had his spot in league all but handed to him. He obviously don't respect the game, or his team mates.
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2014, About: Moore headed for surgery?
When I was in high school there were two kids who had great high school careers one was a RH 6'4'' with a very good fast ball signed with Phillies org. the second one from a different school in my area. he was a LH pitcher. not as big as the RH pitcher but had a very god fast ball. He threw 3 no hitters in high school and was signed by Pitts. both pitchers blew out their arms in their first year in rookie leagues and any chance of a career ended. both pitchers started all of their games in high school
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2014, About: Moore headed for surgery?
With all of the injuries to young pitchers arms(elbows) you have to wonder just how many innings they threw and how many days between starts in high school and college or how many breaking balls. How much stress had they put on their arms before signing with a ML team?
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2014, About: Zimmerman alters motion to stay in the lineup
Zimmerman doesn't seem to be affected with hitting yet , but altering throwing motion to first could cause problems later. A move to first could ease his shoulder ailment without affecting his hitting to much
Posted Wednesday April 09, 2014, About: Zimmerman alters motion to stay in the lineup
Scott Rolen had chronic shoulder ailment. he had surgery but did not solve his chronic shoulder problem. His shoulder did not seem to bother his throwing to first too much, but it did seem to affect his ability to hit for any kind of power, which led to his retirement
Posted Monday April 07, 2014, About: Rox ready to make cuts
Wiess has o play the hand he was dealt. Morneau is signed for two years. If rockis are again out of contention by June I could see the Rockies try to trade Morneau and his contract. That might be difficult unless a contending tea is looking for a bat off of bench or filling in for an injured 1b man.

Come May and about the time Braun is hitting.260 with a homerun and 3 RBIs , it will be interesting how many fans give him a standing O. then.
Posted Monday March 31, 2014, About: Reasons not to hate Bryce Harper
Actually I realize it is part of game but when a base runner starts his slide at second base sliding into SS or 2B they have the right to protect themselves. It is the intent to upset the pivot man on the DP. If a runner after being upset makes sure he uses base runner to break their fall. if base runner starts getting elbows and gloves to body and face the runner might think twice going past bag. I can see base runner all of a sudden start crying foul.

This happened in todays game against the Mets Mon. 3/31
Posted Monday March 31, 2014, About: Reasons not to hate Bryce Harper
Harper and Nationals have no right to complain about kick in head. Harper started his slide right at the second base bag going after Young upsetting Young. When you do that those incidents happen. If a base runner slides past second and then comes up under pivot man at second , the umpire Can call obstruction and give the defense the DP. I would recommend the fielder at second fall on the base runner when he starts slide at second base sliding way past second base making sure your elbows break your fall and glove in the face. this keeps happening base runners might think twice going after infielder at second
Posted Monday March 31, 2014, About: Phillies hope motivational signs lead to more wins
Now the Phillies will win the World Series. Why haven't more clubs thought of this? Just because you put a few signs up in your club house doesn't men a thing if you don't have the talent to win on the field consistently.
Posted Monday March 31, 2014, About: Cubs still looking for closer
The Cubs Should have resigned Kevin Gregg if they weren't going to sign a closer or trade for one. Now the season is about to start and NOW finding a closer is urgent. Typical Cub philosophy, when they lose close to 100 games again this year they can say it was because we didn't have a legitimate closer. Epstein apparently is not he savior the Cubs were hoping for. The Cubs have not improved while he has held the reigns.

The Cubs should have resigned Kevin Gregg if they weren't going to trade for one or sign someone else. Typical Cub philosophy. That way when they lose close to 100 games they can say it was we didn't have a legitimate closer. They had the entire off season to sign a closer or trade for one. the season is about to start and now it is urgent to find one. Epstein apparently is not the savior the Cubs were hoping for. He has not improved the Cubs at all while he has had the reigns.
Posted Thursday March 27, 2014, About: Milwaukee still home for 'Tony Plush'
It would maybe would be different if this guy was actually good. comes in handy though. If He strikes out, or blunders on the base path Morgan can no that wasn't me , it was Tony Plush. There was one game while he was in Milwaukee and the announcers kept annoyingly going on and on about Tony Push. Mention it once, drop it and go on with rest of game.
Posted Tuesday March 18, 2014, About: Who will be Tiger's Opening Day shortstop?
Rollins has seen better days but if price is right( triple A prospect for Rollins to fill gap until Iglesias returns. Rollins could be used off of bench or DFA him. would be a better option then signing Drew at a higher price plus a draft choice. I could see the Yankees signing Drew as backup for Jeter or other infield spots if needed. Not sure what SS prospects Detroit has in minors.
Posted Friday March 14, 2014, About: Does Sandberg have a problem with Rollins?
It is spring training and management want to give all guys get ABs plus if a veteran see a bench players getting ABs and doing well that should be an incentive for that veteran to make the most of his ABs.
Posted Wednesday March 05, 2014, About: Cinci's NL MVP candidate
Jay Bruce will not hit much above .260 until he learns to work the count, and shorten his swing and concentrate on making contact especially with runners in scoring position. same could be said of rest of lineup. Votto does a good job of working count. Perhaps a new hitting coach might make a difference. Until someone in the lineup hitting behind Votto who is a real threat to produce with clutch RBIs, Votto will continue to be pitched around.
