Thx JD. This kind of stuff happens to **** too; they just do not get glorified as much. Jim Donnovan does a Great job up in the booth during Browns games; and for the last 11 years he's been dealing with cancer and nobody outside of immediate family and friends knew about it.

Hey EZ, I thought that we had another solid draft...nothing too flashy, maybe a little risky on some of the character-issue guys, but overall there is a lot of potential. Bengals did alright, too; hell, the whole AFCN had a pretty good draft. Happy with the new QB?

I just hope that they have matured and are ready to make the necessary commitment needed to play in the NFL. Sheard became a defensive captain at Pitt, which is promising. Little had the first round talent, and hopefully plays with that chip on his shoulder. Fingers crossed.

On the curse: The curse usually hits players that had great years [b]and[/b] went to the playoffs and/or Super Bowl. With back to back 5-11 seasons, I think the Browns and Hillis might just fly under the radar as far as the curse is concerned. Congrats to Hillis, Cleveland's newest fan favorite.

I think this comment just about sums it up. Not to justify Mendenhall's comments, but how old was he when 9/11 happened: 13yrs old?...14 maybe?

Sentimentally, it would have been nice to have another Matthews in a Browns uniform; not a lot of LB's on the free agent market either. Not sure where the Browns are going to get some reinforcements. Jackson has not played a full season in two years; Gocong is still a work in progress; Fujita should be fine; everyone else is a huge question mark, especially since most of them are currently free agents, too.

Cleveland: C+/B

Really got the quality trade in the first...drafted quite a few guys with checkered pasts, guys who are projects...solid draft though, especially if they can stay out of trouble, or play to their potential...Heckert seems to draft really well, so I trust them for now. Hope I can give them an A grade by season's end.

1. Very happy about the trade compensation from the Falcons.
2. Glad we stayed away from the QBs in this draft.
3. Head-scratcher at first when we nabbed a FB in the 4th...but he did play in a WC offense and seems to have that nastiness about him to get down and dirty in the AFCN...feel bad for Vickers, though.
4. Heard more positives and upsides than negatives about the problem children we drafted...gonna trust the upper ups on that one...the potential/talent is there with Taylor, Sheard, and Little.
4. Still love that we have Atlanta's number one and number four picks already in the bank for next year...Their strength of schedule is ranked 20th, but they have to face the NFCN, where even the Lions are going to be a very tough matchup...and only 3-4 games against teams with a sub-.500 record...
5. TE Jordan Cameron seems to be getting some backlash from Browns fans, but again the potential/athleticism makes him a pretty solid value pick in the fourth round...plus he will have time to develop since Cleveland has two TEs in Moore and Watson.
6. Skrine could be a diamond in the rough...he has the speed and athletic ability, just going to need to develop the skills and desire to be a starter in this league.
7.Something tells me that Cleveland might have to dig in to the FA market to find some linemen after only taking one in the draft (Pinkston). Also going to need a D-lineman and some depth at LB.

No worries EZ. It used to be a great place to work...but there is a reason that it is in such financial troubles...and why managers are under such pressure to cut costs--even at the expense of the employees.

I fought them on everything, but the stress, to me, was not worth it. Our union was a bunch of cowards, and did whatever they were told. It was a lose/lose situation.

The money was good, and the other carriers, but everything else was a joke: the management, scheduling, etc etc etc.

Here's to hoping that Tom Heckert can add another solid draft for the Browns.

Ain't that the truth! During that mail count, I watched our post master throw away some of those sticky tabs that were on a couple stacks of mail, on a carriers desk...then she walked away like nothing happened. I walked over and got the crumbled notes out of the trash, handed them to her, and asked her what she thought that she was doing. No response, just walked away.
