Posted Tuesday March 18, 2008, About: Phillies seek deal for Helms
Most common thing i read in play-by-plays of Phillies games last year: "Infield single to third baseman Wes Helms"

I always wanted to bust out the "Helms Deep" sign in the bleachers...but really, who would i be kidding?

jesus christ on a pogo stick, this is the dumbest thing i've seen today.
Posted Monday March 17, 2008, About: Brother: Brown ready to coach again
For the love of god, nobody please, please sign this man. He'll get a 4 year, 40 million dollar contract, coach for 8 weeks, the team will suck, he'll stop trying to even coach, and he'll eventually get all 40 mil for 3 months work. We've seen this happen EVERY TIME now. I mean, good god this man is good at extortion, so in a sense he deserves this money, but it sure as hell isn't for coaching well.
Posted Thursday January 10, 2008, About: Esposito gauges Sundin's value
I LOVE Sundin. Its just stupid crazy to even SUGGEST that the Penguins would give up that much for him, though. Retarded, even.
Posted Tuesday December 18, 2007, About: Nets to shake up starting lineup
BOOOOOOOOONE!! He was okafor-lite at UConn, except without the consistently debilitating injuries
Posted Tuesday December 18, 2007, About: Gibbs open to contract extension
As an Eagles fan, yes, extend Gibbs. This team should have won 9 or 10 games by now, Gibbs being the primary reason why the Iggles weren't 'officially' eliminated until last night.
Posted Monday December 17, 2007, About: Phillies considering centerfielders
first 50 games Cameron would miss, i think. Honestly, the Phillies need to acquire relief pitching, and lots of it. That guy Otsuka from the Rangers would be a nice start, and probably someone in addition to that. But i don't think i'd mind Cameron too much.
Posted Friday December 14, 2007, About: Blue coach rips Panthers forward
seriously, Horton is 100% right here. Now that he has his money, he'd probably gladly accept an invitation to play for his country.
Posted Friday December 14, 2007, About: Ex-Ranger interests Phillies
Phillie's don't need a CF - Shane can play that position well, though i'd prefer if we had him in RF. But man oh man, do they need relief pitching. Snap op this guy ASAP
Posted Friday December 14, 2007, About: White Sox still likley to trade
Phillies need him...but what would they trade? They have zero depth now on their bench with Bourn and Rowand gone.
Posted Wednesday December 12, 2007, About: What Yankees want for Matsui
Wow, I've never heard the Matsui at 1B idea before. I actually like it - at least they could see how he does at the position, and if he doesn't take to it in spring training, leave him in the outfield. No harm no foul?

Oh, yeah, and If the Yanks can't get a Cain or Lincecum or even Lowry from the Giants for Matsui, I wouldn't even consider doing it. Of course, if I were the Giants I wouldn't consider giving up any of those 3 for Matsui anyway. Either way, no deal please.

to be fair, turning the ball over seven times also gives the other team the chance to score a LOT of points on you, so you can't really judge Feeley vs. McNabb based only on how many points were scored. Also (and I LOVE Brian Westbrook), 9 of his 20 rushes against the Giants were for 3 yards or less, and 6 of those were no gain or negative yardage. Westbrook deserves to be the focal point in that offense, and he should touch the ball as many times as possible - but there were many 2nd and short and 3rd and short situations in that game where the Eagles ran, and couldn't get the first down.
Posted Monday December 10, 2007, About: Tigers ponder lethal batting order
makes a lot more sense to me to bat Sheffield 5th, and Cabrera and Ordonez 3-4 in some order
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Pirates-Indians deal in works
Good god that seems incredibly unfair. WHy not just beat the Pirates up and take their lunch money?

Posted Thursday November 15, 2007, About: Garnett turns down Olympic team
They may be good in the East but they're still scrubs in the West.

Wrong, but for the very reasons you stated. They haven't played anyone in the west yet, so who knows how good they really are. Can't say they're scrubs in the west if they're 7-0, but you're right that you also can't say they're definitely better than any of the top teams out there, too. Lets just wait and see, shall we?
Posted Tuesday November 13, 2007, About: Teams line up for Rowand
I'm sorry - the Nationals? Have they heard that you have to pay the man? That should reduce the teams interested by one.

Oh, and what about the Phillies? Seeing as they just traded away their backup plan for CF, I would guess they'll at least be involved in the talks with Rowand. Oh yeah, not to mention he's a player the fans here actually love. *cough*Burrell*
Posted Thursday October 04, 2007, About: Saban takes shot at South Florida
wait - Florida and FSU have admissions standards? Other than breathing and being really really good at football? I don't believe it. After all, Nick Saban is the one saying this stuff - when has he told the truth?
Posted Friday September 21, 2007, About: Eagles two Brians likely to play
I heard someone picking the Lions over the Eagles as their 'upset of the week'. Sad as I am to even think this...does it really qualify as an upset if a 2-0 team beats an 0-2 team? Before the season started I would have called the Lions beating the Eagles an upset, but i'm not so sure anymore...
Posted Tuesday September 11, 2007, About: Pennington's status unknown
Question: everyone knows that when a player is injured and down, motionless on the field, and then manages to get up and limp off, the crowd cheers the player for his strength and will, not because he got hurt. So why (and I didn't see the game, so i really don't know) is everyone saying that the Jets fans were booing the injury, when they could have been cheering Pennington for taking a big hit and doing his best to get off the field as quickly as possible?
