Posted Wednesday March 05, 2014, About: Giants top re-signing priority
No way Barr is the #1 pick. They need a MONSTER id they go LB and he's not that. Don't be surprised if it isn't a top corner if available. I'm betting OL or CB unless someone like Mosely from Alabama is still on the board.
Posted Wednesday January 01, 2014, About: Coughlin's staff in limbo
Reese bears the most culpability for the current state of affairs. Bad drafts and bottom feeding on FA's: Wilson at #1 is a disaster. Hardly anyone uses a #1 on a running back. Rounds 3-6 are usually sufficient if you have an OLine that can block. What's with the tight end position? Revolving door of mediocrities. And can someone explain Hakeem Nicks to me? Where did he go?

Question is, there are so many holes to fill ( OL, LB's CB's, RB, TE), can they really fill them up even with FA's?

But I wouldn't mind seeing a new Offensive Coordinator. I don't think Gilbride is an innovator and they need a new look on offense.
Posted Saturday June 22, 2013, About: Report: Robinson Cano, Yankees far apart in contract talks
Five years at whatever the going rate. If not, let him walk. He won't make the Yankees winners all by himself.
Posted Monday June 17, 2013, About: Lakers perceive Houston as a Howard threat
If it's true the Clippers swill offer BG and Bledsoe, do it! I think Howard is tremendously overrated and BG is a gamer with a vastly better offensive game than howard who is good mostly for dunks. I know the Lakers don't want to see him in a different uniform in the same building but BG would be hard to resist. Especially if he's going to walk and I believe he will.
Posted Friday June 07, 2013, About: Jeter back in limbo
What else could the Yankees do with Jeter but sign him? I mean come on, it's Ruth, Gehrig, Mantle and Jeter, for cryin' out loud. He wasn't going to retire so what could they do. He has 5 rings and is the most respected player in the majors by his own peers. Anybody want to see him a Red Sox uniform? Remember what the 49'ers did with Joe Montana? How sad was that to see him at K.C. Nah, they did the right thing.
Posted Thursday June 06, 2013, About: Yanks desperately want to hear 'R' word from A-Rod
The Yankees need to play hardball to get him to retire. Such as threaten to terminate for cause for violating the morals clause and let him sue. Anything to get him off the books.

I also was disappointed with the coaching. The Knicks don't seem to have any offensive sets at all. Don't they run plays? It doesn't seem like it.

Now I'd like to ask, where did Tyson Chandler go in the entire series and where was Raymond Felton last night? He has to penetrate to set up their shooters. W/o penetration, any defender can just sit on the shooters.

I thought Indiana was clearly the better team and better coached as well. I actually think the Knicks overachieved this season, not under.

Now does anyone know where they can get a power forward who rebounds and can score in the paint. Ya know, just like David West.
Posted Friday May 17, 2013, About: Steinbrenner believes in less-expensive Yanks
They're about to find out if their farm system is any good. Just look at the Angels and Dodgers...the "old" Yankee way of buying stars isn't working anymore. The Oakland A's have made a mockery of that logic. The Cardinals must be laughing their you know what's off they let Pujols walk.

The Yankees need to clean out the aging star contracts, pay Cano ( he's worth it and in his prime), and see what they've got with the kids. If Oakland can do it, so can they.
Posted Sunday May 12, 2013, About: Tyson Chandler rips Knicks' defensive effort
That was a bad game last night. You could tell in the first quarter there was no energy at all and the offense had zero flow. The ball didn't move and Carmelo was in one on one mode because of it. Did anyone see Raymond Felton cause boy, was he missing in action last night. Absolutely invisible! What a time to have a game like that. Woodson must be livid with the effort.

I have to assume Chandlers hurt. He didn't forget how to play. That bulging disk in his neck must be hurting him.
Posted Tuesday April 02, 2013, About: Yankees' identity crisis revealed
Get used to it. It's over. The wheels are off and the Yankees are up on cinder blocks. For those who remember the Thurman Munson/Don Mattingly era where the yankees were one of the worst teams in baseball for 15 yrs, this will be like a nightmare revisited. With no talent in the minors to come up and a luxury tax that prevents the Yankees from buying more stars, the run is over! It was good but get used to sucking.
Posted Thursday February 07, 2013, About: Two AFC West teams make sense for Bradshaw
Giants must be banking on Andre Brown's return at 100%. He showed he can do the job and he's much cheaper. Bradshaw's been a really good player but those foot injuries are troublesome. This is what managing the $ means means in todays NFL. The Giants are going to have to spend of FA's so I guess it makes sense.
Posted Monday December 24, 2012, About: JPP doesn't believe Giants deserve playoffs
Problem for the Giants is that their entire defensive scheme is built on a pas rush that isn't there anymore. They've been trying to fix the secondary for years and it hasn't worked: Aaron Ross, #1 pick...bust, Prince Amakumara, #1 pick...bust, Corey Webser I think was a #2, toast. Add in the worst linebackers in the NFL, no run defense which the Giants have been trying to fix thru F.A. and haven't and pass rushers who have disappeared. Too many holes to fix via the draft and F.A. You're not going to find 3 LB's, two CB's and two D.T.'s at Costco! They're in trouble!
Posted Wednesday September 05, 2012, About: No one trusts anyone in Boston
Stick a fork in the Yankees, they're done. Journeyman starters no ever heard of, an offense that can't score runs, fading former stars ( Jones, Ichiro ), current stars who are stinking up the place ( Granderson), a catcher who can't hit his body weight ( Martin ), a pitching staff that's melted down ( Freddy Garcia in the biggest game of the year?) and 3 humongous contracts that will send them straight to the bottom in coming years ( A-Rod, Teixeira) and you have the recipe for a Titanic-size sinking of this franchise.
Posted Tuesday October 04, 2011, About: Sabathia's performance should give Yankees pause
Do not re-sign Sabathia. Use that money to get 3 pitchers. What he proved last night is that he NOT a big game pitcher anymore and he isn't in the elite category such as Verlander, Halladay etc. This should be a huge wake up call for the Yankees to pass on his contract. Being stuck with a washed up Rodriguez is bad enough. All I could think last night was how old Jeter and A-rod looked at bat. Overmatched even by a closer who threw 34 pitches the night before. And as for the hitting, when your payroll is $209M and Brett Gardner is the hot bat, good luck!
Posted Sunday August 21, 2011, About: Yankees among teams scouting Harden
Burnett is through. After last night, how could even the most delirious in the Yankee org give him a play off spot, let alone another start, period. The big question is...is Phil Hughes back? Cause if he is, then your playoff rotation is CC, Nova & Hughes. Do they need Harden to win the W.S.? That's the million dollar question. And what will Oakland want. Prospects or players? Cause Cashman isn't trading Nova. So will they give up the AA gems in waiting for a rental of a guy with health problems?

Posted Sunday August 22, 2010, About: Damon wants to return to Tigers
Given the Yankees sporadic lack of offense, more DL for ARod, Lance Berkmann on the DL, they should sign Damon for the stretch run.
