the UFC has the best stable of fighters in the world. no, they do not have every great fighter. they don't claim to have every single great fighter. but they have the best stable. and that gives them the right to say they have the best fighters in the world.

1st and foremost, no one will ever truly know what was requested/offered other than the men in that room. both dana and fedor have to blame the other, or else the fans would (even more so) revolt. secondly, seeing how the UFC has strong armed their fighters in the past, it is totally believable that they would put some (I AM NOT SPECULATING WHAT THEY WOULD BE) clauses in the contract that would restrict fedor in some capacity. fedor, on the other hand, has total freedom to do as many real fights and exhibitions as he wants. and his commitment to sambo is well documented. stadiums, teams of fighters, cross promotions...i don't know. but i think LOGIC would dictate that the truth lies somewhere in the middle of what both men are saying. that would mean they both would have to make concessions if they truly wanted to join forces. that said, it won't happen. they are both making too much money doing business without each other.

seriously, as the sport grows more people will watch...which is good. more people watching means more money. that's good business. the "downside" is that when more people watch, more people are watching! that's means you can't tirade like a jackhole. you have to clean up your mouth. ask michael phelps if public perception matters. it does....like it or not. if you want the big money, you have to play by the rules...

as trendy as it is to rip white, i agree with dallas_W. dana white has to clean up his mouth. at least in official releases. he represents a professional sports league. if he wants to cuss on his blog or youtube channel, that's one thing. but when making official comments on the record in regard to his business...it reeks of bush league to have a foul mouth.

there comes a time in every man's life where decisions have to be made. whether to toil, labor, or just plain piss your days away.

that time has come for the ice man. he has to either get back to winning or go somewhere else. it'll be interesting to see how it goes for him. i'm also interested to see what rua brings to the table. looking forward to the fight.

the cop kimbo fought in the basement of a gym was not an MMA fighter until after he fought kimbo. and if you watch/listen to that fight, you'll see/hear that the cop put him in a choke hold which was not part of the agreed fight terms. and he didn't get his butt kicked. it was a close fight. didn't you see the face of the cop? it was jacked!

at any rate, kangaroos are vicious and a human loses to one every time in a fight.

kimbo did not set out to be a professional fighter. the guy just happened to be alive in an era of youtube fame. and then someone realized they could make money promoting him. and he realized he could get some serious money doing what he was already doing: fighting. that's it. the guy is extremely humble in every interview. he knows he has a short shelf life and he's just trying to get paid. more power to him!
