yeah, he flamed out in Oakland...he had one bad month: April. No other threat on the team, he got little to hit (why pitch to him?), he was pressing, hadn't learned the league and played in a pitchers park...after his horrible April, he did well in May, June and really well in July. He ended up with an .831 OPS in Oakland that, if he had just maintained and not risen(which he was doing and likely would have) he would have finished 10th for AL OF in OPS...yeah, what a BIG BUST!

First, people were saying he was a Coors Product, conveniently forgetting how well he did away from Coors his last year in Colorado...then he had one bad month in Oakland, came to St Louis and tore it up and now he's labeled an NL guy...

He'd destroy in those little ball fields called Fenway and Yankee Stadium...

Did you see his away numbers in 2008 (while he was still with the Rockies)?

Did you see what he did when he went to St Louis this year?

Did you see his last month in Oakland?

In Oakland, he was the only hitter in that lineup. He wasn't getting good pitches and he was pressing cause he was the only bat there. He had ONE bad month there, his first. He had a .872 OPS in May, .812 in June, over 1.000 in July.

He's not a Coors Product. He's a heck of a hitter

good call. He hit 40 this year and 28 were on the road (away from the major pitching park that is Petco). He could hit 50+ if half his games were in Fenway with that short RF

Appreciate the welcome, but I've been around for years :-)

yeah, it wasn't taking, then it took...

...and the info was 100% correct

there was 80 million dollar difference between the Yanks payroll and Red Sox payroll...80 million!

14 teams had LESS than an 80 million dollar payroll...14 teams.

Face it, it's the Yankees when it comes to the spending and then it's everyone else...

yup...Smith overplayed his hand...should have taken one of the Boston offers...or kept Santanauntil his contract left and collected the draft picks...

You were saying? Twins just traded Gomez for Hardy.
Posted Friday November 06, 2009, About: Why Rays traded Iwamura
You can understand my confusion since Burrell was signed to be the DH and only played one game in LF
Posted Thursday November 05, 2009, About: Twins-Brewers trade scenario
edit:

Gomez should have started his Twins career in Double or Triple A...IF he every becomes a serviceable MLB player, it'll be right before or right after he becomes a FA...Span, Cuddy and YOUNG have earned their spots, Gomez SHOULD be gone...likely won't be, but should. Offensively, he's getting worse...

how in the world is Crawford underachieving? Someone is smoking the funny stuff...

because giving any less than your all in every tourney is ripping off the fans who payed to see them...unless the fans aren't important...

congrats to her...as always she only tried during the big cash events...those people who attend smaller WTA tourneys don't get to watch anywhere near the quality of tennis from her cause those tourney's aren't important enough for her to bother trying hard in, if they were important enough for her to even bother showing up to at all...

more assumptions...as if you know that with certainty...

I wonder how dominate Serena would be if she played all out in every tournament she played in...and played in more tournaments. Yes, she dominates the majors, but hasn't won anything that wasn't a major in over a year...
