That still probably wouldn't stop people from hating on him for whatever reason, but oh well. It's great to be a Favre fan!
...I mean, who gets their entertainment this way (i.e. through manipulation, deception, bullying)?
It's entirely the coach's call.
Childress sat him out this week out of precaution. If I were him, I'd sit the kid too, but this isn't as black and white an issue as you "fire the s.o.b." people are making it out to be. Don't get me wrong, Childress should definitely be fired. ...just not for this.
They're actually just one idiot who runs multiple screen names. Just so you know. He does this to manipulate people for his own amusement.
...which, depending on how you look at it, is either schitzophrenic or just sad. Does he do it because he's nuts or is it to get a feeling of power? Or is he just lonely and wishes he had people who agreed with him?
I mean, think about the reality of these things. How much of an advantage did the Pats get? Honestly, I can't imagine it was much, if any. How much did the Pack get from this thing? Absolutely zip. ...as if the D-linemen are going to play harder for $500. ...much less try to hurt somebody! These guys find $500 in the cushions of their couch.
And, yes, I do remember Charles Martin. That was during the worst years of the Packer/Bears rivalry (Ditka vs. Forrest Gregg). That got out of hand back then, which is why I recognize that this is a good rule, and that cash incentives should be completely banned. I also remember Buddy Ryan and Troy Aikman. This stuff definitely does need to be watched and guarded against.
And, belichickabow, this had nothing to do with the coach. The players did this on their own, and just didn't know that this was a rule. So, it's totally apples and oranges to compare it to spy-gate.
(get it? ...canon? ...as in, the canonical books of the NT? ...eh, forget it.)
Also, if you atheists hate Christianity so much, try being an atheist in a country that's Muslim, Hindu, etc. ...nobody's persecuting you here. Nobody's making you do anything you don't want to do. So, why so much hate? ...methinks thou dost protest too much!
