Posted Tuesday November 12, 2013, About: Bears' Marshall blasts Detroit's 'disgusting' D
Remember when football was a contact sport and players actually EXPECTED to be hit? How I miss that game...
Posted Wednesday January 23, 2013, About: Cowboys strip responsibility from Garrett
It is refreshing to see a leader who recognizes that an employee's talents are not being used in the most effective manner. Wonder if Jones will do the same to his GM.
Posted Friday September 07, 2012, About: Is 2,000 yards within Megatron's reach?
Given Johnson's skill set coupled with NFL pass-friendly rules, he could supplant Jerry Rice as the most prolific wide receiver in league history.

Will that make Seneca Wallace a Green Bay Packer?
Posted Tuesday August 21, 2012, About: $5M a year not enough security for Williams
Believe me, I'm not holding my breath. But, thank you for the sage advice. If a person doesn't feel confident enough to bet on himself, what does that say about him? Cary Williams' stock has been rising for the past four years. Ozzie Newsome knows this. That's why the offer was made. A good GM has good players under contract during the peak of their productivity. Williams has a chance to be on the open market for the peak of his productivity. You feel like he should play it safe. Cary Williams feels otherwise. I'm inclined to agree with Williams.
Posted Tuesday August 21, 2012, About: $5M a year not enough security for Williams
I think this is a very savvy business move on the part on Cary Williams. It's very risky but none-the-less savvy. He is betting on him having a season that increases his value. How aggravating would it be to have an All-Pro season in what would have been a contract season but knowing that you'd just signed a three-year deal? He'll be in a very advantageous negotiating position at the end of the season if all of this works out.
Posted Friday August 10, 2012, About: Seahawks have 'Baby Patrick Willis'
"Whoa. Patrick Willis? That's the gold standard." Now, that there is some gin-you-wine, fancy newspaper writin'. Take note Mr. Pew-litser.
Posted Tuesday June 26, 2012, About: Can a 165-pound former point guard crack the Vikes?
Desean Jackson is one of the league's most dynamic players and he is listed at 5'10", 175. Also, ss a point guard, I'm guessing Taylor has ridiculous agility. I'll be watching this young man.
Posted Friday April 27, 2012, About: Claiborne saw 'no point' in Wonderlic
Unconscionably racist statement. But, it's okay. It's all in fun, right?

Posted Wednesday March 21, 2012, About: Crocker: Ward is 'dirty,' and a Hall of Famer
I guess I never get it when people describe Ward as being dirty. He made legal hits on players whose goal it was to put hits on his teammates. Considering that the recipients of his "dirty hits" were linebackers and defensive backs, you'd think that his physically aggressive style of play would have been appreciated.
Posted Monday March 19, 2012, About: Smith considers dumping his agent
An apparent conflict of interest. The Niners offered Smith a contract before Manning was even released by the Colts. Smith rejected the offer. I wonder if his agent advised him to reject that offer because he viewed San Francisco as a potential location for Manning to continue his career. That's the kind of thing that spawns lawsuits.
Posted Monday February 27, 2012, About: Pair of receivers leaping into Round 1?
I can see sports writers sitting at their laptops visualizing nicknames for Hill. "Starscream" is probably at the top of their lists.
Posted Tuesday February 14, 2012, About: Goodell's contract irks Falcons' White
Mr. White doesn't seem to have any knowledge about the infrastructure of Corporate America, does he?
Posted Wednesday February 01, 2012, About: San Fran may be in line for A-list WR
The two on that list who I think the Niners should covet, likely won't be available. I can't see either the Bolts giving up Jackson or the Jints giving up Manningham. Stranger things have happened though.
Posted Wednesday February 01, 2012, About: San Fran may be in line for A-list WR
I'm not sure how much the price tag will be but, the Niners should definitely look at Reggie Wayne. I doubt that the Colts will even offer him a contract.
Posted Saturday January 07, 2012, About: Jerry Jones responds to criticism of Dez Bryant
I don't know how "around" Bryant's father was but, it doesn't sound like he was the best role model. If you remember the 2010 Combine, there was controversy about what Bryant's parents did "professionally".
Posted Saturday January 07, 2012, About: Jerry Jones responds to criticism of Dez Bryant
Deion Sanders Jr. is a senior in high school. However, if I remember correctly, his mall incident was due to him attempting to use a credit card without any identification and his reaction to not being able to conduct his transaction. There could have been a second incident at the mall with Sanders Jr and sagging pants so I can't say that Mr. Driftwood is wrong. That being said, the expected maturity level of a high school student is less than that of a man. Even if that man is a professional athlete.
Posted Tuesday December 20, 2011, About: Is Ray Lewis too old?
It inevitable but, it's unpleasant to read threads about the potential of the end of the careers of both Ray Lewis and Payton Manning. Great players and leaders who spent their entire careers in the same uniform.
Posted Sunday December 18, 2011, About: NFL 'not aware' of Hurd's client list
He does all of this with the approval of his employer. The way you can be assured of this is the fact that he has punished players for multiple years and has yet to be removed from his position. While he has to have some autonomy, his employers define the parameters of his power as commissioner. He is doing exactly what the owners pay him to do. If and when he fails to meet the owners expectations, I suspect the NFL will have a new commissioner.
Posted Saturday December 17, 2011, About: NFL 'not aware' of Hurd's client list
Why in the world do fans display such disdain for the commissioner? You do know that he is an EMPLOYEE of all 32 franchise owners, right? He can't do anything without his employers' consent. All power he has is given to him by his employer. Essentially, he is a figurehead. Is it possible that your anger is misdirected.
