Posted Monday October 15, 2012, About: Drew Brees continues to openly criticize league office
Exactly! When you give away all your power don't be suprised when things don't go your way. Wonder what he would think if Goodell started publicly questioning his competence to negotiate on the players behalf if he already forgot what he and the other reps agreed to last year?
Posted Thursday March 22, 2012, About: Payton ruling affects Brees' future
I hope this was Payton's reply to the Commish when asked why he lied:

"Son, we play in a game that has sidelines, and those sidelines have to be guarded by men with extra financial incentives. Who's gonna do it? You? You, De Smith? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Favre, and you curse the Saints. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Favre's injury, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that sideline, you need me on that sideline. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent acheiving something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very financial security that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a helmet, and get in a 3-point stance. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to."
Posted Wednesday March 21, 2012, About: Hill insists he's not over it
That borderline doormat has one of the best training staffs in the league. Hill, and for that matter Nash, wouldn't still be playing if he was anywhere else but Phoenix. Shaq can vouch for that. Besides don't you guys back east know that AZ is where all the old people out west go to retire. No way he's leaving.
Posted Wednesday March 21, 2012, About: Broncos drafting a backup QB?
So the Broncos are going from one offense that only worked for the previous starting qb to a new offense that only works for the new starting qb? If something happens to Peyton it's not like the backup will be able to come in and run a modified version of the same system anyways, as shown by the Colts, so why not roll the dice and keep Tebow. Throwing Tebow out there every few series as a changeup to keep the defense on its toes wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. Seriously, Fox coached Delhomme to a superbowl. Compared to that this would be like a Sunday walk in the park.
Posted Tuesday March 06, 2012, About: Magic GM: 'Six to eight' Howard suitors left
Draft picks and expiring contracts are the only things Otis Smith should even think about accepting in return for trading Dwight Howard. Thankfully, even if Dwight does walk at the end of the season, plenty of cap flexibility and no state income tax will make Orlando an attractive destination for free agents. That could still be negated by SVG's constant whining, so we'll see. Either way, this will not be Shaq 2.0 as Dwight Howard will not be going to another team and winning multiple titles. At least not until he accepts his role as 2nd banana to one of the leagues' true superstars. Teams usually expect more offensive development from their franchise centers than some sort of weird hybrid jump-hook/shot putt, especially ones entering their 8th year in the league. But hey, if your team needs someone who will be your biggets cheerleader when you're winning and accept zero responsiblity when you're losing while doing pushups on the sidelines like a boss, then Dwight's your guy!

Draft picks and expiring contracts are the only valuable things Dwight Howard can bring bring back in a trade. Thankfully this won't be Shaq 2.0, where they watch him leave only to win multiple championships with another team. Dwight won't win anything other than Defensive POY awards until he accepts the fact that he is a 2nd banana and adjusts his attitude and game accordingly. Teams usually look for more offensive development from their franchise centers than some sort of hybrid jump hook/shot putt. Especially after 7 years in the league.
