While the eyepoke was seemingly accidental, it did effect Franklin. I think the ruling should be changed to be equal to that of a groin strike. Take the time you need to recover, and if a doctor needs to take a look, have them take a look. While the eyepoke ultimately didn't effect the outcome, it disrupted Franklin's momentum and gave Henderson ample time to rest. Someone in agonizing pain should be given the time they need as well. While the rules may currently state Miragliotta followed procedure, it may be the procedure that needs fine tuning, as well as Miragliotta chiding Franklin to continue while he was clearly hurting.

Then don't comment on the post.

That's all I took out of this article. Good call.
Posted Thursday January 15, 2009, About: B.J. Penn: I will kill St. Pierre
It's going to be an epic fight for sure, and the "series" they are running leading up to the fight is just to build up viewership and anticipation. I'm sure both guys will say a bunch of stuff, but after the fight, both guys will shake hands and hug. Can't wait to see how this potential fight of the year turns out!

Just like he didn't do in their first fight right?
Posted Tuesday January 13, 2009, About: Franklin bored with TUF
Franklin doesn't really have much to gain from this, but Dana is probably going to see these comments as a slap in the face. Probably better just to grin and bear it Rich, even though it should go to someone who hasn't been a TUF coach before.
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Couture open to fighting Nogueira
This would be a perfect matchup. Perfect way for either fighter to redeem their latest fight outcomes as well. Two great guys in all regards.
Posted Friday January 09, 2009, About: Evans predicts Rampage bout
Forrest definitely won the first two rounds, but Evans found the few holes in Forrest's very complete game, and capitalized on them. That seems to be the way Evans has made his way through the very talented fighters he has faced, and he deserves all the credit and praise he receives.

Rampage vs. Rashad would be a very entertaining fight, we will have to wait to see if it comes to be. Might know more after Rampage receives his sentencing.
Posted Monday January 05, 2009, About: Neer's manager discusses police chase
I agree. While a precedent needs to be set one way or another, the UFC can't screw Neer over just because he isn't Rampage, but I can see it happening.
Posted Monday January 05, 2009, About: Why NY should legalize MMA
And in a sagging economy, wouldn't this help out at least a little bit in NY?
Posted Monday January 05, 2009, About: Liddell wants Evans rematch
Not going to happen unless Liddell wins at least two fights, but if Evans loses (somehow) then it could. I would say zero chance, but Chuck is Dana's boy, so stay tuned.
Posted Monday January 05, 2009, About: Neer fears UFC punishment
The UFC needs to set a precedent one way or another here, but talent and money usually dictates over all else.
Posted Wednesday December 31, 2008, About: Dana White: I'd love to see Evans-Jackson bout
This would be a great fight to see, but I don't think Rampage deserves a title shot after one win. Win one more and then see if Joe Silva wants it to happen.
Posted Tuesday December 30, 2008, About: Couture open to light-heavyweight bouts
I'm not sure if Randy's mind and heart are going to be in it as much anymore with his acting career apparently taking up his time and concentration. He could fight at LHW as he has before, but it could take away from the well-deserved attention that many other fighters there deserve. We will see what happens for Randy, but it doesn't appear like anything will for many months.
Posted Monday December 29, 2008, About: Griffin or Evans next for Rampage?
Even though Forrest lost, it was a great card. Fighters finishing fights is always entertaining, and Mir looked pretty freakin' solid against the best guy in the HW division in the world. This also sets up many great storylines and potential matchups in the upcoming months.
Posted Monday December 29, 2008, About: A's target free-agent sluggers
All players would make sense for the A's given their track record. Older guys on the downside of their careers, that could still produce. Probably wouldn't mind any of them at this point.
Posted Friday December 26, 2008, About: White: Rampage abused energy drinks
A weird story gets a little weirder...
Posted Tuesday December 23, 2008, About: Will Ortiz increase Affliction role?
Exactly, because if he did, he would probably still be with the UFC (despite their differences).

He could hurt or help Affliction in a big way, but for now, they are essentially picking up all the UFC castoffs they can get.
Posted Monday December 22, 2008, About: Liddell wants Jardine rematch
I think this would be a great fight for Chuck to get into. Jardine is a tough fight, but is over matched by a lot of what is out there in terms of contendors in the LHW class. We saw that in the Wandy fight. But he did KO Forrest, so anything can happen. This fight would be good for both Jardine and Chuck.
Posted Friday December 19, 2008, About: Ortiz reveals new Affliction role
Wow, glad to see fighting organizations don't want to see Tito in the ring either. He was pretty well-rounded though, so we will see how this commentating goes.
Posted Thursday December 18, 2008, About: Rampage's ex-manager denies helping Silva
All of these recent "news" stories are pretty lame. Nothing they allegedly hear is nothing they can't find out themselves.
