True, but the Raiders kept a 1st round pick and is not on the hook to pay the demands a #3 overall pick. Raiders have several problems but they helped both yesterday. They are in Cap hell right now and by trading down they save a lot of money and still get a great player. The also now have a second round pick, in a very deep middle draft.
Maybe, but I read several scouting reports that said several teams rated Manuel as the QB with the most upside potential and could be the first QB chosen. Looking at WV this year I have a hard time understanding why anyone thought Smith was a first round QB. I think there are still at least two QBs available in the draft that will have better NFR careers.
Personally I think he deserves a raise for what he did last year - the winning was great, but more important keeping the fans and the team going. His loyalty should be rewarded. I don't see what would be bad about announcing he received a raise - would probably be a big boost to his recruiting - which is already tough enough.
Actually - I think this year I will just watch the fourth quarter of all the bowl games. So far 3 for 3 had interesting fourth quarters. One more game with a good fourth quarter and we will have enough for one good game.
I am a big Andy Reid fan and I really hope he is not at Philly next year. Both Philly and Andy need a change. Andy Reid will be the #1 choice for many teams once he leaves Philly.
I agree, having an affair is not that great, but having the University hire your mistress - thus having the University's funds being used moves her from mistress to another category.
Also, how many ADs want to get involved with a coach that misuses public funds and then lies repeatedly about it to the AD.
Peterson has family reasons for wanting to stay at Boise. He makes great Money at Boise, and has great fan and school support. Auburn your honeymoon is over before it begins, lots of political issues with the money Alumni group.
I don't see any job getting his attention except may Oregon if Kelly goes to the NFL.
Should also mention - I don't think GA Tech should get punished for playing in the their conference championship. If Miami did not pull out, then GA Tech would be eligible for a bowl.
I hope they don't beat FL State, although it would be typical of the season the ACC has had this year to have a 7-6 team ACC Champ in a BCS bowl playing the BE champ.
I agree with you, I don't have a problem with lots of bowls. I generally find them fun, those who don't why not just ignore them and watch the ones you like.
What I don't like about the bowls is how they get selected, generally by ESPN (yes I know they pay the bills). I would like to see geography play a factor in the smaller bowls. Maybe we might see a few more fans in the stadiums.
Which means Capital One gets first choice - who would they rather have Bama/GA loser or TX AM. I think it is pretty clear they would rather have the Bama/GA winner - much better attendance and ratings. The Cotton Bowl wants to be a major bowl, putting TX AM vs TX would fill the stadium and have sky high ratings (Just to see the anger vented by both teams).
