Posted Wednesday January 29, 2014, About: Scott Linnehan?
The Sherrington article this morning (DMN) was intriguing in pointing out the possibilty that this is Garrett's last chance to succeed and so he has more of "his guys" in places and roles of responsibility. Where Callahan was a "Jerry" hire, Linehan is clearly a "Jason" pick. Gonna make for some "interesting" dynamics going forward.

Still - as long as the defense remains with the current "usual suspects" in the lineup, there will be no improvement in the W/L ratio. If the Cowboys are going to see any improvement going into 2014, it has to happen on that side of the football. And - it doesn't matter if Marinelli or Kiffin is the DC.

Tom Landry couldn't coach up that bunch of scrubs.

If his draft record was a little more stellar, so would I.

Pretty much...
Posted Tuesday January 21, 2014, About: Cowboys Cap Issues
For those of us who harbored hope Jerry would get his financial house in order and get the salary cap situation under control, I offer this.

The usually optimistic Jones also delivered some sobering news Monday. He said don???t look for the Cowboys' tight salary cap situation to get much better anytime soon.

"I don???t ever see a time when we won???t be under some serious challenges on the salary cap," Jones said. "That???ll always be there for us because we???re that aggressive with our dollars."
