The Angels shot their wad, plain and simple. They stand to have a hole at first base if Teixeira leaves (which he will). They won't be able to re-sign every guy who is a free agent, so they stand to lose Vlad's bat, their closer, an outfielder and a starter. They should be ok in the outfield right since they have Hunter and Matthews? The way the Rangers won that last series of the season in Anaheim should have been a warning flag for the playoffs and for next season.

They should have beat on him with billy clubs and dumped his butt in a hole with rapists to teach him a lesson.
