I agree... play Encarnacion at first and bat cleanup, trade Lind for a bag of chalk, and let everyone else on the bench take turns at DH. I'd use Omar at DH mostly though.
Almost everything he's hit this year is an infield fly. The pitchers have him figured him out. He needs to adapt, just make contact and quit trying to crush the ball. He has guys hitting behind him that can do the job, no need to try and carry the team. Relax and be more selective, quit throwing tantrums after every swing and miss. He seemed to take more walks last year. I think sitting out a game might do him some good.
With all the integrity that McGwire possesses it makes no sense that Rasmus wouldn't listen to him, or the coach that endorses him either. He'll fail miserably in Toronto.. just like all those other malcontents who couldn't get along with their former fossilized coaches.. ie: Yunel Excobar, Tom Henke, Devon White etc
Precisely correct... this was the last piece of debris Toronto had to jettison and coincidentally they improved right away. The next Leafs manager who gives out a no-trade clause should be dragged into the street and pistol-whipped.
Sold out arenas but not enough corporate boxes. They did not lose the franchise because of a a lack of fans.
The little dictator is busy right now looking for someone with a criminal record and shady financing to take over, I'll bet they end up in Las Vegas.
